This was something we've done in 2008, for another great local band called nuance.
We just gathered whatever cameras and lights we could get, and shot everything within one afternoon. Concept was supposed to be "studio-live", much like a "live in abbey road" kind of thing. But we realized that the audio quality of the live recording is very tough to manage.....need hours to mic and all....so we decided to sync the video with the tracks in their album instead. Buy their CD if you like what you hear!

'Karma' tracks the journey of Sentinel 5, who awakes from a deep slumber in limbo to begin a journey that will take her to The Triangle - a monolith of unknown origins. Inspired by music from Singapore's avant-garde post rock band The Observatory, "Karma" is an experimental film that explores themes of existentialism, regret, and life beyond death.

Ler is an aspiring filmmaker and freelance director who has handled an amalgam of projects ranging from corporate videos, commercials, dramas, infotainments, to music videos and short films. The latest TV project being Channel Five’s upcoming prime-time drama Perfect Deception. Outside of work, Ler is an avid supporter of homegrown music, and was one of the singers for the band Localbarboy. Formed in 2005, the band’s mission is to promote awareness of indie music in Singapore. He is also the creative director for the album artwork, photoshoot, and videos of local band nuance. He is part of the film collective birdmandog, which is responsible for several short films such as the unnamed feeling, Manu Saves the Day, The Fan People, and Girl and the House. The group’s latest project is an experimental music video for prominent Singaporean band The Observatory.
