Those who read Moonchess entry a while ago, then it will be almost the same. She watched the 1st screening and i just watched the 2nd screening last week. so far as i know, that will be the only 2 screening in Malaysia. Those who are interested, might have wait for their next coming screening in Singapore which venue and date yet to be comfirm.
I didn't have the ohm to watch it at first. I go to accompany a friend and to support an old collegemate that he might not even know who i am. However just tot to support local production. Thanx god that i didn't miss it. Second screening is FULLHOUSE, all 320 seats were full and people were overwhelmed and some even have to sit on the stair case in the cinema hall. Some were standing at the back.
We bump onto 'ah niu' too, 1 of our local chinese singer who are quite wellknown in taiwan. He looks tired with big black eye bag, so doesn't felt nice to disturb him for a photo.
Ok, lets talk about [THE NEGATIVE EFFECT] , i now would say i definately will regret if i miss the show. The Negative Effect is a documentary about a group of young and dynamic people preparing for their LOMO exhibition.
The whole mission consist of 40+ Lomo lover around Malaysia, traveling up all the way to penang, a cultural state in Malaysia for 2 days. Within this 2 days, they having very tight schedule as they need to start shooting their photos for the exhibition 48 hours b4 their exhibition. Which mean u have nothing to display even 48 hours b4 the exhibitionn. COULD U FEEL THE PRESSURE?
Their task is to shoot the Penang island that they see through their lense. Interesting thing about lomo film is that you won't know how your photo looks like, how the colour be and how's the outcome until u dev it into photos. So in this 48 hours, 40+ young people shot around 360 rolls of negative films and dev on the same night.
It is fun, stressful, looking forward, exciting, adventures and all sorts of feeling jumbling up together. After their films was developed. Some member's film was blank. Due to technical error, so imagine the depression and sadness surrounded him. The moment he see other people was exciting sharing their photo, but he got nothing to share. The self-blame emotion, the unbelievable expression when other notice about it and etc. I just feel horrible and pity him. There were others photos that were over expose and all sort of x-factor. Lomo camera is a tool that doesn't allow u to check the image by the time u shoot. That's the pro and con about it.
So on the next morning when others were arranging their photos and setting up for the exhibition. Those who fail, decided to reshoot their photos. Is never too late if u willing to do it! I am impress and am happy for them manage to get it done too before the show starts.
This is the snap shot of the documentary of the show. Photo grabbed from their lomo documentary blogspot.
I am so into the documentary till i felt i am part of their team. The daring and braveness to organize such activity is something i def wil look up to. This adventures exhibition campaign brough their friendship closer together, the screening showing more people about their passion, making us wanting to become part of the team to support this kind of art form.
There are more situation happened. Is just too much for me to mention it here. Hope one day this documentary will reach ya plc. Here is the trailer of the ducumentary.
yea, it's weird though because when I was younger, no one would ever guess that I was my mom's daughter because we didn't look alike at all. But now, I guess we look more alike and people can easily tell that we're mother/daughter. =)
I just looked up Wondermilk. I'd never heard of it before. I've never seen a shop like that. It's cool. Girl, no, if you look up the price, I might send you money I don't have tot get it for me, lol.
It sounds like it'd be a good idea to have a set of jumper cables in your car too. ;) I can remember 2 times when I had car trouble...and it was in the hubby's old Mercedes (which I usually don't drive) both times. I was driving it bc I was pregnant and the car seemed safer. I was shopping and I couldn't get the car started. Luckily a coworker (whom I never speak to, heheh) was there and I asked him to jump me. Think the alternator was bad. The other time sth was wrong with the radiator or sth and it was overheating. I barely made it to the babysitter's house and then had to call a tow truck to bring me home. Aggravating! Especially when both times hubby was in Japan.
I will have to try to make my own shabu shabu. I know my children would enjoy it. I have an electric wok. I think it would work to sit in the middle of the table full of chicken soup. THen we all can cook in it! Thanx!!
