Alvin have been playing the drums for more than a decade now. He was introduced to the world of music back then as he was inspired by a popular band group called 'Beyond' from HK. After which, he joined his school's new guitar club and is a pioneer member of the club. Initially, he was inspired by the lead vocals of his idol group and wanted to sing and play the guitar just like him. As time goes by, he went jamming with a few of his guitar club friends, as none of them can play the drums and bass, he was 'nominated' to play drums for that session. Since then he was appointed to play drums for EVERY of the sessions. His love for this instrument grew rapidly.
His professional music career started way back to the year 1999. Till now, he have sessioned for many Asia artistes’ like Maggie Theng(Concert in Singapore) William So(Mini concert in Singapore) Samuel Tai(gig in Macau)Maria Cordero(gig in Macau) Theresa Carpio(gig in Macau) and a few more to be named. He also have been a resident drummer all around Singapore and is also always in demand in helping to record drum tracks in many artiste albums from Singapore. Till 2008, he's the resident drummer in a Singapore’s renowned Asian Fusion Bar, named ‘Lunar.'
During his contract with ‘Lunar,’ he was approached by Macau’s very popular casino. Venetian Macau Limited, also known as asia’s Las Vegas and wanted to sign him as their full time drummer. Finally, his dream to show people outside of Singapore what he can do is fulfilled. Currently he's performing nightly at Sands Macau for 6 nights a week.
Back in singapore, while not gigging, he will teach drums at a music school and he feels he needs to give what he knows the younger generation, as he did not receive proper drums training at a younger age.
