  • We give ourselves away when we defend against words that never had anything to do with us.

Two quotes I found in the office of Yvette Biro:

"We are tight-rope walkers for good."

"A great film is a mixture of scandal and miracle."

I was supposed to meet a friend at the MoMa but we couldn't find each other. So I just wandered around for a while until I got a call from her later.

In the architecture and industrial design section, this was what struck me:

The Church of Solitude project, by Gaetano Pesce. I guess it was a desire to be away from all the masses in NY during the 70's. I don't think it was ever built, just drawn and planned. I like the city better when I can see the boundary between what's organic and what's man-made. I think that's why I like this. That's also why I like construction sites.

Lately thinking about how I never had a good sense of space, naturally, when I was younger. I guess space invaders, or in the other extreme, hermits, are people who don't get "space." Was always disoriented and stuck in my head, more drawn to words, rhythms, and music. So people who brought hints of the other side were totally mystical to me. Cool thing about making films is you can come into  it from different sides. People who are more visual learn to appreciate words or stories, and people who are stuck in words start paying attention to space.

This design is pretty interesting.  I don't know why that line from "Field of Dreams"  just popped into my head as I was looking at it - "If you build it, they will come"   Living in a little box in the city makes me crave for space.

this will be my house ... build it in the third world (brazil) with a low cost, should not be difficult ... I need only many wood to hold the walls. this project is perfect.

That looks really interesting, reminds me of the documentary film Dark Days about the people who live in the abandoned subway tunnels of NY.

I like this idea, it's a shame it never got completed, it would of been a very peaceful place to escape too

    what an interesting concept

I guess growing up with space (in NZ) makes one take it for granted.
