But Marie, I think the Chinese women in rural areas not to marry foreign men, because the family did not approve and the Chinese women do not want to marry foreign men, the culture of these women is very strong. In my opinion these marriages with foreigners can happen with women who live in cities and have good economic situation. I do not let my daughter marry a foreigner, is dangerous, he takes her to another country and then you do not know what happens to her.

But the only way these sites work is if there are willing Chinese women who are so desperate to come to the West that they are willing to participate in this.  For rural Chinese women, especially those with no university education, they have the choice of going to work in one of those soulless factories where they can work 10 hours a day 6 days a week and live in a company dormitory for the rest of their productive lives, or get a chance at a very different kind of life in the West.  Remember, Colonial America had a lot of women coming from the British Isles, Germany, Holland and such places to be wives sight unseen of men in America who had the financial wherewithal to bring a woman over.  She would be a wife and mother, much better than being a servant in someone else's home for the rest of her life.  The American West also had plenty of mail order brides.  When women have little education and few economic opportunities at home, they are willing to try something like this.  One wonders, though, how the agency deals with minor inconveniences like a US visa for the prospective bride?  It is harder and harder for foreigners married to Americans to get residency and a green card, let alone permanent citizenship.

It is totally creepy that advertisements for Meet Asian Chicks keeps coming up on various websites I frequent (like Megavideo).  It objectifies Asian women.  I did not go to the ChinaLoveLink website because I do not want another internet link between me and SeekingAsianWomenForGodKnowWhat out there in the internetherworld.  Doesnt this stuff piss you off?  As for the BF if he thinks social networking is just finding romantic leads then he is no longer allowed to use a computer haha.  AnD is just a nice cafe to sit around and talk to friends.  Pretty benign.
