Pingtong, Taiwan. Feb-March 2007. We were making our film and staying at my uncle's house in Pingtong, where my dad went to medical school. Pingtong is a really nice mid-sized city. Not cosmopolitan and high-tech like Taipei, it's got just the right touch of countryside in it.

There are half-wild dogs everywhere. I really think they have more nuanced, people-like (anthropomorphic) expressions than their sweater-wearing counterparts in the west. (Not saying that one is better or worse, just different.)
