Voted 2008’s skate video of the year by all skateboard magazines,
Lakai’s legendary Fully Flared video has been released in a new Deluxe Bonus Edition Box Set.
The Lakai Final Flare Deluxe Bonus Edition includes 3 discs:
Disc One is the original release of Fully Flared,

Disc Two is the Bonus disk which has the 60 minute documentary about the video, 25 minutes of bonus unused footage, 45 minutes of hi-def footage & interviews & commercials.

Disc Three is an HD Blue-Ray disc which contains a 45 minute edit of all the HD footage with new stuff that was never seen all in glorious Hi-Def 720 resolution, Vincent Alverez’s part for Chocolate in HD, a couple of commericials, a 10 minute documentary of a weekend at Bibel’s & the amazing intro part with all the explosions in HI-def 16:9.

The 48-page bonus edition booklet, which comes with the box set, is a collector’s Jem. I won’t go into the details of the book, but it has more behind the scenes info about the film.
I spent the weekend watching this, the documentary covers a bit about the beginnings of Lakai Limited footwear, & the making of the video. I re-watched the original film again a couple of times after watching the documentary; it was inspiring to know about how they pulled this video together.
The HD bonus footage was fun to watch, with familiar spots from China

I rarely blog about skateboard videos, but this skate video is probably the best I have seen to date; I now have a deeper respect & admiration for the living legends Mike Carroll, Rick Howard, Eric Koston, & especially Guy Mariano! Props out to Marc Johnson, Cairo Foster, Jesus Fernandez, Lucas Puig, JB Gillet, Nick Jensen & to the filming & directing of Ty Evans, Spike jonze & Cory Weincheque!
My favorite to watch are Alex Olson (son of Steve Olson ) & Mike Mo Capaldi, as Rick Howard mentioned in the video, Mike Mo is a “Skateboard Savant” - a natural born skateboarding genius.
If you love skateboarding, this is THE video set to get. I guarantee you it will inspire you. If you love Skateboard videograpy or filming & editing in general get this video. The edits & filming are second to none.
I so feel the Lakai Manchesters now. Seriously, Lakai shoes are probably one of the MOST under-rated shoe brands in Hong Kong / SE Asia!!
