RIP MJ
Wednesday, Jul 1, 2009 11:30AM / Standard Entry
In my opinion, MJ is the undisputed king of pops, thats right, its either him or nobody. Singing since the age of five, this guy has been in the entertaining business for almost five decades, and is still going strong. On contrary, it breaks our hearts knowing the fragile state hes in when he passed away. I feel sorry for the ending, but when ever i think about his glory days, my sorrow is once again replaced with wonder and admiration. MJ, u have tried so hard in life to lift up our hearts, i salute you, now u may rest in peace, for u will definitely be resting in our hearts forever. Irreplaceable, i wont see any other as good as you in my life time, you have all my blessings mic, be a happy soul.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtmbZbzr680&feature=relatedI was in awe the other day watching this. How could i not have noticed the true feelings of our king of pop, that happened such a long time ago? He has always felt so alone, the lyrics touched the bottom of my heart, for i feel for him. Long time since i felt this way.
I think a lot, always has always will. And the people who i can sit down and talk to, for some reasons, during my course of adulthood, seem to get less and less. It can be mutual, i have figured a reason or two but thats not the point. I realise my need to connect with people, or at least, relate to.
Those who has been following this blog should notice the amount of youtube sources. It has become part of my life before i noticed. I LOVE watching stand up comedians, first bcos they cheer me up, second for their sharp observations to human nature, mostly just for laughs, but some of them really try to make a mark e.g. the late george carlin, chris rock etc. And oddly enough, from those videos, i see a different side of them. I see how lonely they are, having all their judgement and firm beliefs in life. Recently i found out quite a few of those comedians that i like are actually lonely/depressed, even more so than i m e.g. chris rock ('kill' the messenger), sacha baron cohen (his attention seeking comedy style drives him crazy), dave chappelle (considered not doing comedy at all for a while), adam sandler (next movie Funny People explains a lot and he knows he is retarded btw), matthew perry (thanks to his repeated recommendation to the game Fallout 3 now i m also addicted), ellen degeneres (hates chatting with strangers yet she is a female based chat show host, and being a famous lesbian of course), steven chow (not exactly the easy-get-along type of boss is he), and the list goes on.
You might be thinking, 'boy what a bunch of idiots!' Take mj for example, he has millions of fans all over the world, of all the people who love and support him, he overlooked, and chose the path of destruction. I would probably say the same for our beloved Leslie Cheung. But who knows? Who knows whats going on in their minds? These guys arent famous for nothing, they all have ups and downs and can write chronicles on media pressure. So the negative voice in their heads telling them to let go must be so intense, that is beyond imagine. And this point brings back to me, geesh, i dont think negative to this extent, not yet at least. I guess i just need someone to listen to my off-the-chart dialog from time to time... Oh well, may be its best i do it here:)
Its getting late, i should better hit the sack, until next time, have a good life folks.

My favourite things #103 & #104
Tuesday, Jun 23, 2009 11:46PM / Standard Entry
Hello there, welcome again to viddy's 100 favourite things! Today i m going to introduce you guys my #103 favourite thing, japanese ANIMEEE! Amongst the many many of my childhood anime, i must say my favourite ones are Saint Seiya and Cityhunter, the former being so beautifully imagined yet solemn; and the latter just gives a constant jazzy metropolitan vibe. Indeed, both stories are oriented to male gender, since they are illustrated by male creators, therefore a lot of actions are involved, thus inevitably unnecessary violence and sex material, in order to boost their commercial value, in my opinion that is. Besides the drama and impressive characters, another major attraction to these anime is the theme song... and boy they are classic. I have chosen the theme song for both anime to share with you folks, and i m certain you have favourites of your own, for we grow up with them, and unknowingly they become part of us. Deep down, the thrill we seek from these anime, reflects our personality, even today. Along side the anime opening, i throw in a couple original video, which are equally compelling, hope you enjoy the clips!

Every scene in this video is a classic, the chase, the saxophone, pinball machine, dancing in crowds, saori jumping to the air- this is anime at its best! Tsukasa Hojo san is indeed very cinematic, this talent of his is very distinct amongst his peers, like his buddy Tetsuo Hara, another master of manga, the creator of Fist of North Star- they both illustrate cinematic scenes relentlessly.

Kahoru Kohiruimaki (小比類巻かほる), gifted with a wide range voice, after her debut album in japan 1985, she became increasingly popular upon the hit song Hold On Me, and even more so after Ai yo kienaide, the theme song for Cityhunter in 1987. My favourite has to be Together, released just a year after. (Pls go to the link on top if the clip wont show)

I put this clip in cos i m so obsessed with this end song, and for some peculiar reason i still remember this end scene, how old was i, twelve?!
*WARNING* The following does not include in my favourite list, I repeat, watch the clip at your own risk, only those who find Kimura 'Cool and Sexy' in the recent ad Gatsby should proceed.

Yasuyuki Okamura (岡村靖幸), born in 1965, influenced by american main stream music back in the 80s, emerged as a popular singer due to his unique dance form (-_-;). He was arrested three times for drug abuse and was jailed in 2008 eventually, guess we wont be seeing his dance for quite a while. Honestly, after watching this video, my love for this song faded away; seriously Oka-jan (his preferred name), wth were you thinking? Top point for lols.

Saint Seiya, what more can i say. The original manga series of 28 volumes have sold over 25 million copies in Japan as of 2007, with translation versions sold to more than 15 countries all over the world. Europeans, if u watching, u know how much u love this. My favourite character has to be the Cygnus Hyoga, the blonde russian dude, who went through a lot of hardship training in east siberia.

The irreplaceable theme song Pegasus Fantasy, sang by Nobuo Yamada, still popular up to this day. Heart boiled every time hearing this tune, hands down my favourite anime song.
My number #104 favourite thing is the epic japanese comedy show Gaki no tsukai ダウンタウンのガキの使いやあらへんで!!, Downtown's "I'm Not An Errand Boy!", hosted by Downtown duo Hitoshi Matsumoto 松本人志 and Masatoshi Hamada 浜田雅功, Hōsei Yamasaki 山崎邦正,Cocorico duo Naoki Tanaka 田中直樹 and Shozo Endo 遠藤章造. My favourite segment of the show has got to be the no laughing batsu game or the punishment game. The series have been running for more than 10 years and still running strong, bless those comedic genius!

Journey to shanghai tv festival 2009
Saturday, Jun 6, 2009 12:09PM / Standard Entry
Almost five months have passed since shooting the series, i cant really express my feelings seeing all the fellow actors once again. I realise i miss them a little more than anticipated, definitely more than a friend, almost like family. We spent four days together, rehearsing for the tv festival show and press conference. I also took the leisure to visit our director joe wong from the series, who was filming another at a near by filming site. Everyone had a bliss. My agent was really hospitable, we had lovely shanghaiese meals non stop; this trip is like dining over and over again, i gained a few kilo at least, thats totally over the limit. O well, time to hit the gym!
our production team had a show booth in the shanghai opera house, from left to right: mr. pig xie ning, mr. monkey fei zhen xiang, mr. monk victor, mr. sand mu feng bin
monkey, me and sand monk, fully charged since completing the series
red in the middle: han xue, cast as skeletor fiend, ambitious lady
this photo needs emphasis, these guys here are the ORIGINAL cast of journey to the west thirty years ago, they are like our heros in our hearts: from left to right, the present pig, the original pig, present monkey, original monkey, our producer, original sand, me
miss fooling around with xiao fei (monkey) and xie ning (pig)
... and something will never change lol
glad u like this photo, i was tuning the pitches, not lol

Babies and Cats, aww....
Saturday, May 30, 2009 1:08PM / Standard Entry
It has been a while since i ponder about owning a pet, whether its gonna be a goldie, husky, persian, coral fish, even iguana. When i was kid, we have a grey-white persian kitty, purchased from a persian cat breeder, as a gift to my eldest sister's birthday, i named him Yo-Yo, as it was a trendy toy in those days. Few years later mother brought home a hazel pomeranian, his name benji, tiny and very affectionate. The dog and cat never really get along, all they do was sniffing each others butts. Another few years went by, this time dad brought home a dark green Hwamei, an asian Timaliidae. The cat sure did scare the hell out of bird just by staring at it, and apparently dad and bird had showers together and both enjoyed just as much; so that was our last family pet. Years later, when i was filming in hengdian china, my assistant pled me to get a rabbit that we should take care of it together. It was snow white so i called it 'xiao bai' meaning little white- kinda effortless i know. Before purchase i warned my assistant about rabbits' narrow life span, if anything happens i dont want to see her come home crying. Sadly only after a fortnight it happened, she got bunny a bell collar cos 'its so cute', and innocent bunny strangled itself. My assistant wept all night, since there was no suitable burial ground, i had no choice but to put it in card board and let it float down the stream, next to a construction site. That night the moon was so full, though we walked to the middle of no where, it felt like we were watched, a moment i will never forget.
Sure, my family have had our fair share of slightly unconventional 'pets', like crickets, not just one, but hundreds of them, for that was a 'hobby' of my dad, breeding crickets, and what an ugly creature. What about you folks? Anything u wanna share with us about your precious pets, feel free to do so. Before that, check out the cats and baby of my friends and relatives, they are really sweet and sure bring happiness to household, enjoy :)
this black and white persian came from a family of six siblings, he is no.2, over 4 months old, little shy and quiet, minds its own business- cuteness: 4/5*
Younger brother creamy, hyper active, out going, enjoy ppl's attention and bully his older bro; in this picture he was trying to enter my trainers head first- cuteness: super cute
friend's new born, this little fella is almost six months, cries a little, weighing close to nine pounds at birth, still learning to play with toys and not his thumb- cuteness: uber cute, i cant help but to pinch his thighs over and over!
