    @NASA..

    Chinatown@London..

    Red Square@Moscow..

    Melbourne :)

    Hello...
Was just checking my blog, and man, I've been lazy...hehe. Well not lazy, just too tired and busy to write, so I have 2 days off, I figured I'd give you all an update on what I've been up to.

In a nutshell, October was a rough month for me, didn't fly much 'cause I was finishing off my days on reserve (and wasn't given any flights for like 5 days..) then i had my leave which i spent in Dubai, studying for my exams (SEP~safety and emergency procedures)...

    Flew to :-

    Melbourne 16th-18th
(for the first time YAY!!!! and met up with one of my friends, Pam...had a great time..)

    Moscow 21st-23rd
(they changed the hotel, so there was a shuttle bus to the red square which was really convenient, hung out with one of the thai crew, Aey..ate some yummy sushi haha)

    Colombo 24th-26th
(stocked up on my dvds, so i'm happy..just gotta find time to watch them all!)

28th-29th DOOMSDAY...SEP exams.....a few hiccups, with my life flashing before my very eyes..but..in the end, I passed...and am very very very thankful that I still have my job. After a year, I still appreciate the fact that I'm living one of my dreams...and love what I do!

    Almost done with November...

    London 4th-6th
Super happy cuz I met up with Harjeet, Gurveen and Trishna (my highschool friends!!!), blast from the past, enjoyd Chinatown as well, i heart dim sum...

    Manchester 9th-11th
2nd time to Manchester, got to fly with one of my friends Deer, so that was fun, ate this super yummy mixed grill and shopped at PRIMARK! hahaha

    Houston 14th-17th
"Houston we have a lift off." Was my first time there, 16 hr flight, a killer..but it was worth it. Once we got there, some of us headed to The Galleria ( a huge shopping mall) but i was too sleepy to find anything to buy! The next day we headed to the space centre, somewhat like NASA..got to see mission control, learn bout the life of an astronaut...kinda cool cuz since i was a kid i've always wanted to go to NASA..i can cross that off one of my lists now =)

    Manchester again....20th-22nd
Got to hang out with my batchmate Yumi (which was super cool since I haven't seen her in a year! CRAZINESS) and Rebecca (we did a GER flight together..)....couldn't have survived the flight without them!!!!!

Got some days off..a turnaround..and then a 24 hour layover in HK, looking forward to seeing my big bro and mommy and daddy..to the rest of my HK peeps, sorry..will see u all soon, time's precious, so...I don't have time to meet up with everyone! sorry..

Anxiously waiting to see what lies ahead for December =) Hope all is well with everything xx

    Shanghai, 5th-7th

This was my second time in Shanghai, had a great time with the crew cuz i was the only girl in economy woo hoo (no..cuz they were real nice!). In the morning, I ventured out on my own (since the guy who was supposed to come along was still sleepin :P) took the hotel shuttle to Yatei Market (aka Underground market) cuz it's literally underground, I think it's just some market near the subway station but that's just me. A lot of the shops weren't open yet, but i saw a lot of fake goods. I'm not really into brandnames, so I didn't do much shopping. Hopped in a cab and headed to Yu Yuan Gardens...i think i spent a couple of hours there, eating dumplings, drinking my pearl milk tea, and just walking around. Paid 40RMB to get into the garden itself, and snapped pics, BOO..no one was with me, so i didn't get a lot of pics inside..but it's all good. Set the timer on my camera and snapped a couple of pics lol. Next stop was something like...Qi Chou shopping area or something, the conceirge told me that a lot of the locals shop there for clothes. So i went to check it out, it was somewhat like Platinum (BKK but not at whole sale prices) or Mongkok centre (HKG, but mostly clothes)..so that was interesting..Then i went to Nanjing Road (the walking street)...I went there on my last trip, but I still felt like walking back and forth. Discovered another lil underground market at the subway station..Took the subway back to the hotel..got myself a 2 hour oil massage...and stocked up on my dvds!!! I am a happy camper.

    Perth, 19th-21st
So I was super happy, just as I was gonna sleep..I checked my roster and saw that crew scheduling gave me this flight. I've never been to Perth before, so that was cool. The flight wasn't as long as I thought it would be, around 10 hours there? and around 10 hours back. The crew were real cool, had fun, the customers were easy going, didn't have a lot of problems. Got to Perth around dinner time, and was thinking that I'd take a shower, get changed and go walk around. Didn't happen tho, woke up the next morning and met my friend Yam (we did a Colombo flight together, she was on the later flight to PER) I met her and some of the crew she flew with downstairs and off we went. The hotel is walking distance from everything you would want to see in Perth. The Bell Tower and the shopping, restaurant area. The weather was great 18 degrees, beautiful hoodie weather. It was good catching up with Yam as well, cuz I hadn't seen her since...Feb I think. Snapped lotsa pics and headed back to the hotel aroudn 6pm to sleep a couple of hours before it was time to head back to Dubai. I really like Australia, so refreshing..and the people are really friendly too! Down under rocks..so far i've been to Sydney and Perth...next month i have Melbourne! YAY!

    Birmingham, 25th-27th
Airport standby from 6am-9am..met my friend Girlie at the lounge, we were drinking coffee etc, then she got pulled out for a flight to Accra 30 mins later....and 15 mins later I was pulled out for Birmingham. Happy yet again cuz i've never been there before. The flight was around 7 hrs? I went to the briefing room and was happy to see a couple of familiar faces, crew that i've flown with before. Really good team work I must say, the service was done quite fast, and we all enjoyed each others company. Got to the hotel, and I think around 1 hour later I met Lavinia, and we made our way to Primark, and the shopping mall, Bullring area. Bumped into Reza and Charu, and shopped for a bit, they were dead tired, so they went back to the hotel. Reza and I walked around for a while, it was nice and cool again I think 18 degrees? So nice just walking around snapping pics. Grabbed something to eat and then he went to meet his family. I explored a bit, made my way to Bullring, saw a pretty church, and continued to make my way down the slope. There was this street market, unfortunately it was closing, so everyone was packing up their stalls etc. I was taking a pic, and then these guys were shouting stuff like "taking pictures huh, lil japanese girl.." blah blah blah so i was like umm..GHETTO!!!! and there weren't a lot of people around, so i made my way back to the crowded area...

Next morning I went to buy my fridge magnet and I was a little disappointed, because they didn't have pretty ones!!!! and there were no shotglasses in sight, maybe next time. Anyways, it was a good layover, I wouldn't mind doing the flight again some time.

Basically September was full of airport standbys (jinxed myself...was telling my friends that I only got 1 of them last time i was on reserve....so this time round...most of them were standbys at the crew lounge). Some days off, get togethers with friends :)

This month, I have days off, then Melbourne, Moscow, Colombo..my SEP exams...and then a turnaround to Kratoum =)

chillin in Lagos with Jucel, Andrea and Clive

    hehe@Osaka..

    Osaka Castle : Main Tower..

    St.Stephen's Church@Vienna

    Palace@Vienna

    Hey guys,
So...this is the rest of my August for u all to read in a nutshell...

    Vienna, August 9th-10th, 2009

The flight was shorter than I thought it would be, around 6 hours there? Service was a breeze, the passengers were great. Got to the hotel, and decided to head out with the crew, we're lucky because the hotel was in "Wien" which was the area with all these musuems and palaces for us to check out. Across the street from the hotel, there was this real nice park as well. UNFORTUNATELY.....it was a Sunday, so most of the places were closed. Around 9 of us ventured out to St.Stephen's Church, which was close to the hotel, and we all split up, cuz we all wanted to see different things. I didn't sleep before the flight, so i was exhausted..grabbed something to eat and went back to sleep. The next morning i woke up bright and early, ventured out by myself, snapped some pics, bought some groceries (the perks of being cabin crew, buying groceries all over the world hehe), took a walk in the park, slept for an hour and headed back to Dubai. I was supposed to have another Vienna on the 13th-14th, but they took it away from me due to legalities, flying hours etc :( BOO...til next time, I'm waiting to see Gustav Klimt's "Der Kuss" painting, and musuems with Mozart history, etc..since i love music!!!!

    Osaka, August 17th-19th, 2009

This was my first Osaka, and first trip to Japan. Didn't sleep before the flight, so I was mad tired , luckily the passengers weren't pressing the call bells non-stop, and I was with cool crew, so we helped each other stay awake. Got to the hotel, felt like sleeping, but..went out with Aa, Yu and Heather to this 'walking street' near the hotel...got something to eat, went into a couple of those "everything for 100yen" shops haha, and went back to sleep. The next morning I woke up bright and early, and went to see Osaka Castle, it was mad hot, like 32 degrees, I had to walk around 30 mins from the station to the 'main tower'. got some souvenirs, saw the tower and headed back. walked around Osaka station, there was Daimaru, and some other department store, went back to sleep. I think i'll go shoppin' next time round...hehe, and look for some cute stuff, like in HK..too bad we don't fly to Tokyo! :(

    Lagos, Nigeria, August 21st-23rd, 2009

There's a first time for everything. This is one of the flights the crew dread the most, (along with turnarounds). The flight was..umm..interesting, boarding was a killer, but after that it was smooth sailing. Interesting passengers they were. Got to the airport, it was so oldskool, we were escorted by guards to the bus. On the bus for the 15 minute ride, there was a quick briefing.."Hi guys how are u all doing? Please fasten your seatbelts, do not open the curtains, or take pictures....Do not patronize the hawkers outside...There's a first aid kit just in case anything happens, don't worry we are quite capable. There is also a security car in front, just in case....now relax and enjoy the ride." Umm....right, so when we reached the hotel, we all went to our rooms to get changed and came down for buffet lunch. I thought I was gonna pass out since i didn't sleep the night before (insomnia) but..I ended up hanging out with the crew besides the pool til DINNER TIME! hahahahahahahaha, that was fun, me, Jucel and Clive were the last ones standing. Had some dinner, and went to sleep. The next morning I woke up for breakfast, went to the gym with Yuka and then went to get ready for the flight. The hotel wasn't as bad as the crew told me it would be. I heard there's another one which is worst..this was real nice, i didn't feel like I was in any danger at all....free meals (cuz no allowance), free net (though I forgot my adapter, and they didn't have the right one for me to borrow)..great staff. Shout out to Jucel, Clive, Yuka, Kristine and Andrea! Thanks for a great layover and flight, could've have survived it without u....WE WILL KICK IT AFTER RAMADAN..mark my words..hahahahaha

In a couple of hours I have a turnaround to Riyadh, day after another turnaround to Beirut and finally another turnaround to Kuwait. Busy me..

Next month I'll be on reserve....sigh time flies (I was on reserve for the first time in Feb, 2009). Wish me luck...

The flight there was alright, tho i think the service sequence was sooooooooooooooo long for a 6 hours flight, we JUST fiinished both services on time, phew...I just realized I like serving the bar so much more than meal carts hahaha, not that it matters though, if given the meal cart, I'll be fine as well.

Got to the hotel around 2:30pm local time, and we all decided to meet downstairs 30 mins later. Luckily for us, the city center was just like 15-20 mins away walking distance, so me, Mose, Michaela, Jay and Glen headed out....we were all starving so once we found a hot dog stand, we munched away. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD..i think whenever i have german flights that's all i eat, german sausages!!! cuz it's the thing to do.

We just kept walking around aimlessly in the city, snapping pics, enjoying the views..but Michaela and the boys wanted to drink some beer, so we split up. Me and Mose opted to walk around, check some stuff out, sip some coffee/hot chocolate near this river..where swans and goose were! And just take it easy...

Eventually we made our way back to our hotel area, found a grocery store, and bought a couple of things...then called it a nite.

The next morning I woke up for a stroll along the lake (right across the street from our hotel) and then walked around, found a local bakery store, got some breakfast...took a nap, and then off we all were, back to Dubai. Wish i had more time in Hamburg, Mose's lucky, she has another 2 HAM flights this month...i'm not doing THAT bad either, got 2 viennas, and 1 osaka to look forward to...

Mose thanks for a great time! U take care now...xx
