The band reformed after a long work break over Christmas and New Years to record two original songs for the Underground label's CD3.
Given that we had not played together in 3 months, there were understandable nerves about how good we could get our sound in the five hours we had to record both tracks.
Guitars, not having been played for an embarrassingly long time, required re-stringing.

Unlike our last studio recording, we recorded our songs "live" together, putting mics on all the amps and drum kit and relying on everyone to get it right at the same time. It's a pretty big ask when you haven't played together for such a long time.
The late night session was more relaxing than expected, with a few beers and lots of laughs keeping the tension low.
Everyone was tired, but the vibe was good and the experience enjoyable.

Vocals were put down last and then the best version of the songs chosen from which to begin each mix.

Which take is best? Consensus in Uranus is usually easily reached.
