- After years of experience in the design industry in Germany, uforepublic decided to spread their creative passion by opening an art gallery in a foreign land. Established in April 2009, ufo gallery (former ufoArtgallery) is one of the first and very few galleries in Hong Kong that dedicates to embrace lowbrow art and subculture. At ufo gallery, we give you an alternative choice of art, which is fun, experimental and more accessible to the public.

ufo gallery closing party

As winter draws close and the temperature drops, we are going to pack up our bags and hibernate for a little while.
After 20 months of hard work and a lot of great art shows, we will close ufo Gallery in Graham Street in its current form at the 15th of December 2010.
This will not be the end of ufo Gallery for good, but will give us some time to think about some future projects and how to continue running the gallery in an even better way.
We will also be looking into possible new locations in 2011, which will hopefully provide more space for what we want to do.
To thank all of our artists, customers, art lovers and supporters during this time, we will have a last pre-closing party, with a sale of up to 40 % on our art pieces.

"Start From Zero" was founded by a Hong Kong local street artist - Dom.
START stands for STreet ART
STencil ART and STicker ART
Start From Zero (SFZ) is from the streets, it is not only a name, it insists on an independent spirit. Some may not even consider it as art, SFZ started quietly on the streets, had left marks and traces over the decade, simply promote street art wholeheartedly and encourage you never give up !
Sticker is the symbol of "StART From Zero", it can be a slogan for encouraging people when they are unhappy, down or miserable. Their stickers can be found everywhere in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
Apart from stickers, "StART From Zero" also good at using wheat pastes; stencils to convey their messages on streets.
Asides from performing street art, "StART From Zero" releases various products, T-shirts, badges, caps and other accessories. These are the additional media for "Start From Zero" to more widely spread their messages to everyone.
“Brick the Wall” exhibition will feature more than a dozen pieces relate to stickers, stencil, poster collage, mixed with wood discarded on the street.

Start From Zero 的由來源自香港本土街頭，不只是一個品牌，更可能不是藝術，堅持著一種獨立自主精神，街頭起家，默默地在香港留痕，
從一而終推廣街頭藝術，激勵大家永不放棄！
"Brick the Wall" 是次展覽將展出十多件有關貼紙、stencil、poster collage 混合街上棄置木頭的四不像。在室內接觸理解，在室外欣賞嘗試，鼓勵更多人在街上發聲。

＜JoyStick 起貼＞
This early summer day, during the dinner time, person A asked : "Any market for a sticker book?" Group B replied : "Yes, DEFINITELY!! Many sticker lovers in Hong Kong. Group C added : "Hundreds of our friends will buy it." Then the story is, they sent a proposal to publication company, and the reply to them is : "YES, it can work!"Crazy people makes Crazy decision. So A, B and C starts to work, calling illustrators to join in, collecting the artworks, making the book design. The sticker book project ＜JoyStick 起貼＞ is finished in only 3 weeks. This is how the ＜JoyStick 起貼＞ was born.
16 local creative talents, unknown people they are. Only want to share their joy of using sticker.＜JoyStick 起貼＞ could be the first sticker book in Hong Kong. It consists of different beliefs, from culture to propaganda, from political weapons to emotional catharsis, from utopia to sex bomb. Stick wherever you want to, stick whenever you want to, just stick it! Hopefully more people would consider stickers is a new form of Art.
Then the book has been released in 2010 Hong Kong Book Fair, the sales record is still going strong. It can be found in most book stores now. But is it the end of <JoyStick 起貼>?
A chance from heaven then. Thanks for ufo gallery, we gather all 16 talents again to have a group exhibition. ＜JoyStick 起貼＞ is not a book itself. The other meaning of ＜JoyStick 起貼＞ is to share happiness together.

在東方世界，9是吉祥數字
對SIT來說，9意味著他重新找到的幸運。這次展覽名為 " 9 " ， 是荷蘭畫家SIT利用9幅畫作表達他如何由人生低潮重新找到希望和快樂。
曾經在黑暗中迷失的SIT，有著一段令他心碎的愛情。到處遊歷是為了擺脫已往的不快經歷和珈琑。早前到香港旅遊更經歷一段金魚奇緣。一晚，在香港這繁榮鬧市，抽過幾根香煙，喝過幾杯廉價中國威士忌，SIT的視覺開始變得模糊，隔著一家商店櫥窗，如幻似真的看到一雙金魚的大眼睛，這金魚更慢慢變成了數字9。未幾，SIT聽到一把低沉的聲音跟他耳語，說“跟隨9這數字，幸運便會回來你身邊。”
在這夢幻故事過後，當SIT清醒過來，他的錢包不見了，但是他知道他已得到猶如拾了金牌般的靈感，一個更美好的明天就在他前方。
熟悉SIT的朋友知道這種奇遇只會發生在SIT這個充滿歡欣和自由的靈魂身上，現時旅居於巴西聖保羅，SIT運用他自成一格的美術風格，繪畫出九幅幸運金魚油畫。東方的吉祥物，佩上西方流行的藝術風格，加上SIT流麗的筆觸，栩栩如生的金魚活現眼前。當沉鬱的黑色亦已變成了燦爛的金色，生命也有個更美好的明天。願金魚與你同在。

關於 SIT
SIT，出生於1976年荷蘭阿姆斯特丹，多年來活躍於阿姆斯特丹的創作界，由即興繪畫，平面設計和廣告設計等。直至一天他厭倦了，要還原生活的最基本，找回生命的真意義，便埋頭到藝術和油畫裹去，“9”是SIT第四個個人展覽，以往的展覽包括：
Unwired – 系列是個紀錄過程，記載著SIT如何擺脫生活的珈琑和被困的感覺。 由迷失到找回純真，一切展現於黑色和白色當中。
SITAKI – SIT突出了大自然與當今物質社會的無情的對立，是人為創造的痛苦。
DRKPNK – 混合了美感，超現實主義、性、色彩、幽默、動感和當代節奏。
