  • Slow

    Tuesday, Nov 25, 2008 9:51PM / Standard Entry

i take two and half weeks off from my drawing table. Take a stroll in the park, enjoy the sunshine over my face, close the eyes and feel the warmth and breeze. The world can be just that simple, beautiful and comfortable. It is such a bliss of doing nothing, get a break from the routine life. Why hurry about planning a trip or travel over the weekend? Slow down, city people, relax, go outside and immerse yourself into the nature.

Day 2 of my study leave.

  • what if time can rewind?

    Saturday, Nov 22, 2008 2:40PM / Standard Entry

How do you rewind time and fix the mistakes you’ve made in your life?

That is the simple question that i asked.

    Answer from the internet.

I don’t know many people who would turn down the chance to travel through time and change mistakes that they made earlier, but the reality is that simply cannot happen.

Lots of philosophers and writers have considered the possibility of time travel and what would happen if we went back in time to fix our mistakes. Almost every one of them has determined that trying to repair mistakes we make before we make them almost always makes them worse. There is no way we can fairly change the past based on the ramifications it had in our present or future.

Instead, the only choice we have is to learn from our mistakes and try to make amends for the things that we have done wrong in the past.

Mistakes and regrets, though sometimes hard to live with, can only truly be fixed by liviing better because of them.  If you made a mistake and hurt someone you love years ago, you cannot go back and change that. However, you can resolve not to make the same mistake again and to try to treat people better.

The only time our past truly harms us is when we fail to learn from it and repeat the same errors over and over again. If you have learned from your mistakes, no matter how terrible they might be, then your redemption is in the future, not the past.

  • Masters play with light

    Friday, Nov 21, 2008 12:50AM / Standard Entry

SMoCA's architect Will Bruder in collaboration with James Turrell and James Carpenter.
James Carpenter's Scrim Wall fills the space with prisms of colored light which play off of the Skyspace's exterior.
Behind the Scrim Wall is the elliptical Skyspace by James Turrel. The pure white plaster wall contains bits of seashells.
Immerse myself within the sphere of light.

    Saturday, Nov 8, 2008 6:58PM / Standard Entry

It was a wonderful and inspiring experience. We divided into 4 groups ( desert, rain forest, savanna and marsh) to discover the design inspiration from the nature of different climatic conditions, really take nature as our mentor and learn from it.
where we explore the artificial ecosystem, called BioSphere II. So where is the BioSphere I? It is our planet earth.
Where we live, cluster of Spanish houses painted in different colors.
Enjoying the sunset moment, we can hear the roaring of the animals.

  • On the road

    Tuesday, Nov 4, 2008 7:47PM / Standard Entry

It takes two hour drive all he way from Phoenix Airport to Tucson, where the Biosphere camp site is. Along the road, amazed by the extreme landscape conditions and how diversified the species can be on this piece of dessert land.
