Robert Dudley, Professor of biomechanics and comparative physiology at UC Berkeley, was arrested this morning while protesting the 32% tuition increase!  He was given a citation and released, and says he would do it all over again without giving it a second thought.  He encourages us all to attend demonstrations in the future to draw attention to the poor management and unreasonable tuition increases in the UC system.

I'm really excited to give my first presentation at a scientific conference!  I attended SICB last year and it was a lot of fun.  I can't wait to see all the cool stuff people are working on this year.  I'm glad my colleagues were accepted so I'll have people to hang out with while I'm there.  It will also give me a chance to meet a lot of amazing professors from all over the world.  I'm really looking forward to chatting with all these great scientists and thinking up cool research projects together.
