Hey all guitar lovers; maybe i present to you, a reborn FERNANDES REVOLVER !!!
Snatch this baby up in a local store here during an overstock blowout for a mere 50pops ($1bill for two, so got another gtr for a fnd)~~to say the least, i laughing all the way out the door
At first, Some crook ripped out the 13th frets to do gosh-knows-what. Later, i found out some bastards ripped the sustainer electronics wiring out (the most $$ & unique part of the guitar)
Anyway, for the kind of $, i'm getting a great neck-thru "superstrat" body with real Duncan pups & strings to work with...so really, no big complains here...
So, i started talking to a friend about rebuilding this little black beauty into playable action. He suggested that we wired it up like a regular superstrat and skip the sustainer for now. I'd love to have it the sustainer to so of those crazy sounds and violin/syn-like tones, but for now, i'd ok without it. Plus, the original sustainer PICKUP wasn't ripped out, so if i should be so lucky to found some proper electronics wiring again; it's ready to be used again!
Next, he decided to swap out the original Duncans (S-S-H also, but 'open' coil look) for some real deal active EMG! (since he had some in the shop that another guy swap some other thing for. Plus, he wanted the duncans for his other project gtrs) What a crazy idea...but yet...very tempting!!! "superstrats" are suppose to have that super hot/wild saturated tone anyway
Last month, when i got my guitar back finally (extreme THX to him!), i was so psyched~~~!!! The fret was replaced and dressed. The EMGs are BRUTALLY hot (so i could do some "AH BOB"'s new songs
) Plus the combo looks killer!!
So here it is in present form! i still have to add that switch tip on the new pup selector & maybe some little black caps to cover where the "sustainer electronics" suppose to go =)
This is my "best deal" in guitar shopping so far...and the most memorable one tooo ~~!
