Wanderlust and an eye for provocative images have led fashion photographer Todd Anthony Tyler around the world, from Bangkok to Hamburg to Singapore. A native of Canada, Todd began shooting editorial and commercial work in 2001. Since then, he has worked in several different countries for a range of clients that includes Vogue, Metropolis, Elle, Ports, and McDonald’s.
Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Todd graduated from Trent University with a bachelor’s of science in biology and anthropology. His interest in anthropology still shines through in his photography, which injects humanity and character into ethereal fashion spreads. While based in Singapore from 2002 to 2005, Todd developed Street Shots montages for Catalog magazine. These urban vignettes relate stories through raw, striking scenes, blending Todd’s sensitivity to style with his knack for documentary storytelling. Though he also excels at more straightforward catalog images, Todd is known for this edgy fusion of narrative and design.
He currently splits his time between Shanghai and Toronto.
