What's in a name?

I don't know how many of you have pointed this out but why do alot of Hong Kong girls have the most random Westernized names? What baffles me alot is how they love using Japanese names when they're not even of Japanese heritage. Let me list a few examples.

- Miki
- Yumiko
- Yuki
- Yuko

Well, you get the point here! Then, there are the other strange names. They name themselves after edible food even though "Apple" is a common one that is used. I can't imagine myself with a name like Donut or Dumplings. Might as well call myself "Ha Gau" or "Siu Mai". Why would I spontaneously even talk about it in my blog? Because my friend's cousin is having a baby and I'm running out of names for him. Paprika didn't work.

I predict Michael Wong will join AnD and will start blogging here...
I also predict Sam Lee will join. Of course, I've always been predicting for Sam Lee to join AnD.

Last year, I've spontaneously predicted Collin Chou will join by posting an old interview that I've conducted with him back in 2003. Then, lo and behold, he actually did join AnD a few weeks later. Is there a moral to this blog entry? Absolutely not! Except that it's not easy being a psychic.

I'm born and raised in Toronto, Canada. I can read Chinese and speak English like a typical CBC which brings me to my advantage in getting my head start into this whole translation business. Yes. I'm a freelance translator and have worked for companies like Joy Sales and Diskotek Media. I went to Stephen Leacock Collegiate Institute and had the same teachers that Hollywood actor Mike Myers got his lessons from. (ok...not really but Mike Myers' teacher Howard Gross sometimes walks in and gives me pointers from time to time. My TV Production teacher was former CITY TV employee and Leacock alumni, Mr. Luke Avison.)

and when i'm in the mood, i drink alot.
