Charlotte Free reminds me of a young Gwen Stefani. I love her energy (and hair!)

I have been seeking the perfect hairstylist since I was in the sixth grade. My hair – like me has a mind of its own and is a rebel. As far as I could remember, no matter what hairstylists do, they could never get my hair to obey their wishes and command. By high school, there was only one salon acting as my hair’s primary caregiver until they turned my hair into this (late last year):

    Yes, it was two-toned!
FYI: I was not aiming for something like Rumi or Wendy’s hairstyle which looks like this:

Though, this could be a fun “summer look” in the future:)
I wanted it to be like:

    Audrey Kawasaki's Painting.
    coupled with,

    Park Bom's photo from Nikon.
Luckily, I found another salon and It was tough love at first. During our initial contact, the staff gave me mortified looks and told me (upon close inspection) that my hair was damaged and the color was “severely uneven”. Talk about getting a crash course on Hair-101! (I’m kinda embarrassed that I didn’t do my homework on these stuff).
Pleased with my new hairstylist’s work, I have been attached to him ever since!
And I have come to love the staff - with all their craziness!!!
During one of the maintenance trips to my new stylist, we discovered that my hair colored easily compared to the average.

As you can see the picture above, my roots are lighter than the body – same problem with the old salon. But instead of doing nothing (like my old salon), he fixed the problem!

After fixing my roots, he even gave me a series of free hair treatments! And let my tell you something about Korean hair treatments, it leaves your hair smelling like Vanilla for the next two weeks!

I think I found the perfect hairstylist(s) and they’re Korean
    Result!

So, what’s your hair drama? xx

How did you spend your Valentines?

Mine was filled with love, surprises, and grief.

Valentines is one of my favorite yearly celebrations since grade school! When mum was still around, we used to celebrate Valentines together with all the balloons, flowers and the pièce de résistance: chocolate! When she left, a couple of my single friends and I decided to have our annual reunion on the very day and we have become attached to the hip for three years now!

Even thou February started with a close friend leaving my life, many also have returned. Including some high school and college friends. This month has been filled with reunions pre and post V-day! Until now, I am still recovering from my Valentines Hangover!

I had already met my bestie's girlfriend, Joan in the past but we had dinner for the first time together a couple of nights ago.

She is the sweetest thing ever. I love her!

    Post-Valentines Dinner with Ninang Chayo!

My grandmother's 40th day death anniversary was last Friday. The family heard mass at Lola’s grave and had dinner after.

My grandmother died on her husband's/grandpa's birthday.

To my right: My cousins. To my left: My nieces.

I am saddened to say that Fr. Calvin Poulin, our school chaplain and "father" of the Chapel Aides Family passed away last Sunday night. Ate Ana and I were having dinner when we got the text message saying that Fr. Cal had died and we immediately rushed to the hospital. The burial will be this coming Thursday at eight in the morning in Manresa.

“We know that you are already in a better place Fr. Cal, Rest in peace. We love you.”

I hope you had a marvelous Valentines!

Please continue sharing the Love throughout February! xxx

  • Xavier Ecoville

    Friday, Feb 10, 2012 7:33PM / Members only

Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan was kind enough to donate 5 hectares of land to the Sendong flood victims of Cagayan de Oro City. I was supposed to go to the relocation site’s opening ceremony but the schedule collided with the Besigan Trip. Tito Willy, a family friend and also the Barangay Captain of Lumbia gave the group a tour of the relocation site (now called Xavier Ecoville) after our Pagalungan Trip. It was also from him whom Xavier had purchased the land 6 years ago.

Aside from the 5 hectares XU has donated, they are currently lending another 5 hectares where the termporary tents and homes are built. They have yet to start construction on the permanent homes. [Below] on the left side are the temporary homes and tents while on the right side is the land donated for the permanent homes/relocation site.
