1. my real name is tianran bai... yes... thats whats on my passport. in chinese its 白天然, meaning pure/natural. add to it that my last name means white, its really rather poetic! in english it just sounds crap however =(

ATA went broke so my flight from Hawaii to Vegas in June needs to get rebooked. however it does open up options to me... it costs almost the same to fly back to China!

read about it on the news. got asked to go along to protect the flame but unfortunately i work so couldn't go.

i'm glad everything went safely (only 7 arrests! =P)

i feel really mixed up about this issue. on one hand i support free speech and people's right to protest, but of course i understand it from the student's view and their love for China and the wish to protect the flame on its way to Beijing (which is by the way the city I was born!)

i especially understand the sentiment that many people who protest dont really understand the issues and are just doing what is PC which in australia unfortunately at the moment is not so pro-China.

the issues are probably way to complex for many of us to fully comprehend.

just glad nobody was badly hurt :)

今天圣火来到了堪培拉。

我对这些事蛮复杂的感觉... 不过当然希望圣火可以安全到达北京(我的出生之地！)。

hope I can use this blog to record some of my thoughts and life.
at the moment feel as if I'm going through a bit of (mid life? early life! im only 21! ) crisis where i'm not sure what i should be going from here.

should i continue working? finish my studies? move overseas to find more opportunities? go traveling overseas?
