And for the Wizard of Oz fans, here's one to catch this summer (in Hong Kong).

My favorite character as a kid was the cowardly Lion. I guess the law of attraction does exist!

  • Where did the torch go??!!

    Saturday, May 3, 2008 5:58PM / Standard Entry / Thomas' thoughts

    This says something about Macau.

The torch routes were printed on leaflets and given out at the tourist information centre (and elsewhere too I'm sure). Samsung, Giordano etc all had banners waving, the police were in, as were some Olympic organization and most of all, millions of patriotic onlookers, many with China flags painted on their faces, waving flags of all sizes and other little Olympic signs, waiting for hours except... the torch never came!!!

It's hilarious! Everyone thought the Olympic torch was coming this way (past the busy street below my balcony) and so many people were on hand to witness it and all of a sudden, the crowds just started to go away as they began to realise the torch was not coming this way after all! Crazy!

This is probably where Macau is most similar to mainland China - the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, and is not interested to ask.

  • The Wizard of Oz

    Friday, May 2, 2008 9:02PM / Standard Entry / Thomas' shows

I will be playing the role of the Lion and there will be an orchestra conducted by Mr. Henry Shek I was in fact shortlisted to play the Scarecrow for several weeks, until the recent Singing audition when apparently, no other male audtionee could do the Lion's Solo number well enough! Show's on 16-24 August.
