It's been ages since I wrote. Sorry about that. I've for some reason froze my own blogs, including my own blogspot blog website as... erm... perhaps I wanted to not narrate a mess of papers before I have them sorted.
So, anyway, the last I checked, I was talking about pulling out a Ko Hung play. Good news is we're talking about the play again. Theatre Space from HK is now planning to stage it in HK next year. So, I'll talk more about that later.
So I was home in Singapore for CNY and had since returned to Macau to set up the cake shop that I once talked about. It's moving on slowly as Macanese people are famous for being slow. And the process of applying for my work visa here in Macau has made me an unhappy man for a couple of months, simply because I hated paperwork and there were piles of them for me to deal with everyday to get that damn visa. Like China, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing here in Macau. Well, but at least the hearts of Macanese people are genuine and they make the best friends in the world. Not sure about professionalism in the work here though. I suspect working with them will make me like Macau a little less. We'll see.
I also had since rented a new shop space that is renovating now and a wonderful wonderful new apartment with a fantastic fantastic balcony. The balcony overlooks the busiest shopping street at downtown Macau! In fact, I'm at the balcony all day and night. I eat and drink here, meet friends and professional contacts here (saves me a fortune from not going to Starbucks to meet people anymore), do computer stuffs here and yes, I am writing this blog at the balcony too! Here's what it's all about - the view from the balcony.

Then, I also re-named my cake shop Hoshizora Cake Shop (星空饼屋) and here's some pics of the cakes that my chef prepared a while ago.

Now, though we're all drooling, I will have to be a spoilsport here and save telling you the address of the shop till next time, simply because I don't know how it's written yet as I just rented the place a few days ago and it's still renovating. So I might as well reveal everything when it's ready.
Then, onto productions.
I also closed down the said MAM company (which was involved in the Ko Hung theatre play problem) because my Macau partner wasn't any good in my eyes, and soon after, I founded a production company called 'Island Man Pictures' (海岛人电影). This company now has offices in Singapore and Macau and I have a team of people in both places writing up proposals and to find funds for a new indie movie that I will be filming in Macau in September. The film is called 'The Landlord'. The film will be shot completely in Macau and I plan to have at least half the crew, and hopefully some actors come from Macau. Here's the part that's making me feel less good about Macau - It's impossible to find professional film people here, and very very hard to find quality actors in Macau. It's a little like talking to a bunch of 'frogs in the well' each time I discuss work with them. So I guess I'll find myself casting from HK in no time.
Ok, all for now, more soon.
Happy to be back blogging. I miss the blogging-me.
