Story Synopsis:
The Cao family comes from the lower class stratums of society and are notorious
for climbing around government officials to gain social status. They made Cao
Qi-Qiao (played by Perry Chiu) wed into the wealthy and influential Jiang
family, marrying second son Jiang Er-Ye who was paralyzed and bed-stricken. But
Qi-Qiao was deeply in love with the third son, Ji Ze (played by Terence Yin).
The shackles of family feuds, the strategic manipulation of oppression, the
heartbreaking pain of giving up love, Cao Qi-Qiao suffered all the stresses
that life threw at her. It changed her personality and turned her mad. She
found wealth but sacrificed her children’s happiness at the same time, and used
revenge to make up for her destined life of tragedy.
A heavy golden lock, locking one generation after another, not able to break
free…
