About Teal

A recording and performing artist of Flat Six (http://www.flatsixmusic.com/) in Hong Kong, Teal has stunned audiences and received raving acclaims for their performances, music, and especially vocals which have often been compared to artists such as Norah Jones. Teal performs original music as well as songs by their favorite artists rearranged with influences of pop, jazz, blues, r&b, funk, acoustic and electronica. The band was formed when pianist/DJ/composer Preston Lau met vocalist/songwriter Sherin Siew in mid 2008 and immediately there was chemistry in the music between the two.

Originally from Hong Kong, Preston began his musical journey at the age of nine when he taught himself to play the piano, guitar and drums. When he moved to the USA for high school, he picked up and fell in love with jazz music and later decided to further his studies in music business and jazz piano performance at the University of Miami Frost School of Music where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree. Teal is one of Preston's latest adventure, after forming his own music company 'Flat Six' in 2008.
