A solo exhibition
Artist statement
Tadpole Gallery is pleased to present “HPSAR” – a solo exhibition of Li hong ping. In this exhibition, Li will present a new series of paintings which are playing around the ideas of both the new media art elements and Chinese folk art in tradition.
This series of paintings not only releases Li’s very in-depth sensation to the colours of the contemporary symbols and objects but also presents his comprehension during the process of paintings as well as to explore a new perspective of Chinese culture brought to us by his works.
*“HPSAR” stand for Hong Ping Special Arts Region, a word play of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Concept is free to create thing that is beautiful.
藝術家自白書
李康平的個人作品展—「康平特區」。李氏嘗試將新媒介與傳統中國文間藝術兩者溶合創作新元素。
此系列畫作不僅讓觀賞者窺探李氏對當代圖像符號間，色彩的感應，同時揭示他於創作過程中，領會與中國色彩種種的思緒。
*「特區」這名詞對香港人不會陌生，香港是特別行政區，而「康平特區」的理念意指自由地發表獨特創意。
Biography
Li Hong-Ping had studied commercial graphic design in School of Design First Institution. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at RMIT University. Currently, he is studying the Master degree of Fine Arts in Creative Media in City University of Hong Kong, majoring in media art. He had participated in different solo and group exhibitions locally. He works as a graphic design instructor and visual art teacher in design school.
李康平曾於大一藝術設計學院修讀商業平面設計，後修讀澳洲墨爾本皇家理工大學藝術課程獲得學士學位，現於香港城市大學修讀創意媒體藝術碩士，主修創意媒體藝術。現職中文大學導師及視覺藝術科導師。
