Happy new year. Ok I'm kinda late but I was in France and I just got back to work (this morning I mean;-)
As usual, I'm surfing a little bit to see what's going on on the web.
I stumble on this news about Facebook removing pictures when a nipple is present. That mean on the beach, when breastfeeding, ... but there is a catch it's only for women nipples.
The process is somebody report the picture (that mean a friend of the owner), facebook take a look at the picture and then remove it.
I'm pretty open on this. I don't a nipple is that big of a threat to young people. There is much more graphic images on TV.
But I can understand that some country might see a nipple as offensive. There is also the way the breast is shown (it could be art, informartive, accident, ...)
And it's kind of discriminative to remove only women nipple images, right? I know that it propably doesn't feel the same to see a man nipple than a women nipple but women and men are equal, right?
I don't know, this approach really distrub me and I know that at some point AnD will have to deal with that too.
USA is full of paradox like that (Janet's breast story vs CSI miami) What is more offensive a breast shown during a concert or almost naked girls dancing in a streap club in CSI?
What are your thoughts about that?
