Welcome
to the first in a ongoing look at the wonderful world of music! I’ll
share with you some of the music that I enjoy and would like to share
with you all, both good and bad!
It wasn’t until I left Hong Kong and moved to Scotland
that I started listening to music. I’d moved away from all my friends
to a new country and took a while to get to know new people and dealing
with a lot of racist BS at my new school, being English at a Scottish
school is never pleasant!
I spent a lot of time just listening to music and watching MTV (back when it was actually still focused on music!). So here we
go, I’ll start with three albums that really got me hooked on music!
The La’s – The La’s
Blur – Parklife
Puressence - Only Forever
The La's - The La's This album should be given to everyone as a lesson in melody. It's very basic yet beautiful at the same time. Highlights for me are Timeless Melody, There She Goes and also Looking Glass, which is one of my fav songs of all time! Everyone knows this song in the video below, I cant believe it was released 20 years ago now!
There is not a bad track on this album! From the moment I saw them do End of a Century on Top of the Pops, i have been a huge Blur fan!!! Not so much for Damon's voice but for his songwriting. This isn't their best album but it's probably a close second.
This record is amazing! These guys made such an atmospheric record, the sounds fills the room! You need to check this out! James Mudriczki's voice is excellent.
