  Yeah - I agree.  I started Karate very young and in a very very traditional way - didn't even do the whole belt thing - was a Standford professor who did it for pracice mostly... so I kind of got sucked into that.  Had I known of wu shu... I think even then it would have been the more obvious choice.  Frankly, kung fu would have been more up my league... ah well. :)
