Wiped out...

Wow, a sincere thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate our alivenotdead.com anniversary with us last night. Sometimes when it's just us working inside of the office, it's difficult to imagine that our idea has really sprouted into a thriving community and it's really replenishing to my morale to see that the platform that we've created has had made a tangible, positive difference for the artists involved. It gives me real faith that this year is just the beginning and that you will all be blown away by just how widely alivenotdead.com will reach in the coming year. I feel like that we've just primed the engine in our first year but we're ready to put the pedal-to-the-metal in our second year and beyond. I'm sorry if I wasn't able to stop running around during the course of the night (well, not until well after 3am when I finally got to dancing on the dance floor) but hopefully the hard work that all of the team put in (especially Shan, Raffi, our volunteers Elena, Phil, Kelvin, Jen, food by Dan Segall/Janelle, all the performing artists, and the hardworking staff at Cliq) to pull off a really memorable and rocking party... man, I've never seen a party in Hong Kong where both rooms were going strong from 10pm until past 3am and then the last room open until 5am with people still hot and heavy on the dance floor (me included). Big thanks to Tungtung for keeping the energy level going in the backroom until dawn... Can't wait to see her DJ again! There were so many friends and familiar faces (as well as welcome new faces) that I felt like it was like the awesome Rotten Tomatoes Halloween Parties that we used to throw. We probably only have enough energy to throw this kind of event sparingly, but when it does happen, hopefully it's memorable enough for people to want to come back every year.
