Hey AnD'ers!

Happy 2010!! Okay, so I'm trying to "make good" on a New Year's Rezzie--be more active and proactive on AnD!!! As you may know, my blog attempts in 2009 were shameful! I haven't written a blog since September, ackkk!!! So, I pledge to write AT LEAST 1 blog, every month!

Here is an update on what I've been up to during the last few months (and I'm uploading new pictures too!):

Since September, I've been involved in some other fun projects. In a November theatre production of The Merchant of Venice, I played Jessica. It was a very different role and experience from Amadeus, but I enjoyed it very much. Its always so exciting to do live theatre--there is no 'take 2'!!

During Halloween weekend, I participated in the first Hong Kong 48 Hour Film Project!! And I have some great news: our film "Cocktail Definition" has been invited to the Hong Kong International Film Festival, and will be screened with other short films in March 2010!I I worked on the film as both a producer & actor (although I played a very small non-speaking role, opting instead to be "behind the scenes"). My group Spontaneous Combustion, was truly wonderful to work with, and I really enjoyed being a part of this competition. This was the first time that I had ever done a competition like this, and I know it wouldn't have been such a positive experience, if it weren't for my awesome teammates!! Thanks guys!

I also trained for, and ran in, the UNICEF 10K, at Hong Kong Disneyland on November 29, 2009. It was another "first" for me, as I had never participated as an official runner in any run before! I must say, although I was scared to go through with it, I am SO happy that I ended up running. It was so inspiring to see so many people come out and run in support of Unicef!! And I feel very grateful for the opportunity to help and support such an amazing organization.

It is during times like this, especially now, with the horrific events of the Haiti earthquake, that I am reminded of how much we all have--there is SO much to be thankful for, and I wish everyone a new year filled with love, happiness, gratitude, and blessings.

Less than 1 week to go!!

Hey AnD'ers!!

Hope you are all doing great!!

Before I throw an update on what's going on, I'd like to give a SHOUT OUT to the AnD artists who won the ESPRIT Casting!!

Congrats are in order to the gang of CB FRESH (You all looked so damn sharp and stylish in your creative letter T's, btw. Y'all rock!!!) and to the double-winner Vince (who won for CB Fresh and the Amazing Race team!) Hey Vince, does that mean you get 2x the money pot??!

Way to go everyone, and can't wait to see all your beautiful, happy, Esprit smiles all over the place!

As for me, I can't believe it's less than 1 week to the opening of Amadeus!!

I'm sooo excited, as it will be my first production in HK! But I'm thrilled to be a part of this show, and it is gonna be off tha hook! SO DON'T MISS IT!!!!!!!

The costumes are so heavy and as Mozart's wife, I've got dresses and layers of clothing = I'm gonna be a sweaty mess!!!

But, everyone will look pretty smashing in their wigs and outfits....so for that alone, you gotta come out and support the HK theatre scene!

Remember, its September 15th - 19th at the SHOUSON THEATRE!!!!

Summertime in HK

Hi AnD'ers!

My, how time flies. Sorry that its been so long since my last blog (my goal was to try and do 1 per month, but that didn't really pan out!)

It's been an interesting and productive few months since the last blog. I shot One More Day in Hong Kong, a feature film that is in post in the US right now (hopefully I will get a trailer at some point!) I also went home to Hawaii in June for a friends wedding and other events, and I have been busy rehearsing for my play Amadeus. It's gonna be a great show--come out and see it in September!

OHHH, and I finally uploaded photos too! This is a big accomplishment for me, u know! haha I am so slow about uploading pics from my camera to my comp and then online..its an arduous process for me :P silly right?! I just let the memory card fill up and then when I can't take any more pics, I realize that its time to upload.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pics from various events the last few months: acting class with Jeanne and Jason, the class wrap party, the AnD 2nd Anniversary party, filming One More Day in Hong Kong, and there are some publicity shots for Amadeus too!

US Film Shoot!

Hey AnD'ers!

Just wanted to fill you in on a project that I am doing this week.

I'm excited to let y'all know that I'm playing the lead role in a feature film shooting in HK! It's an "indy" film, and the producer/writer/director is an Emmy winner from the US. This is his pet project, and its almost like "Lost in Translation" meets "Before Sunset."

Just finished my second day of filming, and we're doing it guerrilla style..meaning burning through the script and getting all the shots done as fast as possible, while still maintaining the flow and tone that he is going for.

It's been really fun, and my co-star Ed is great too. I've never ever filmed something so fast though! I am so exhausted by running around and getting 20+ pages of script filmed per day. Phew, lots of memorizing and improvising goin' on!!

Anyway, hopefully, the trailer will be done in a month or so, and I'll put that up..And if things go well, it will make the festival circuit and get picked up for distribution.

I'm getting some fun pictures along the way. I promise, I'll get some of 'em up sometime soon!

Jeanne's Acting Class! And other updates..

Hey AnD'ers!

It's been a few wks since my last blog..and since then, I've been up to a few things! For one, I filmed a part for a comedy webisode..a series that will be online. It's in post production now, but I'll put it on AnD when it's done. Had a great time, and played a "Wanchai American Bargirl"--a different role than I'm usually cast in :P But it was fun! If the series gets popular, I might be doing more episodes too! Will keep y'all posted.

I also started rehearsals last week for my first Hong Kong production, Amadeus. It went really well, and the cast is very experienced and great to work with. It's looking to be a ton of fun, for sure. It is a big budget production, so the team is going all out with sets, costumes, props etc. Come on out to see it in September!!

And last but certainly not least, I also attended Jeanne Hartman's Acting Workshop last week too! It was so wonderful to work with her and practice cold reading and audition technique. Jeanne has the ability to translate abstract concepts into tangible ideas that an actor can easily understand and utilize. She is so warm and encouraging, and made us all feel so free and comfortable in class. It was so great for me to meet fellow actors too, especially AnD official artists! And having studied and worked in LA, I can attest to the fact that it is absolutely essential to have strong auditioning skills! Otherwise, you cannot compete with the acting pool out there. Working with Jeanne helped me to practice and improve on my skills, so that I can do my best at an audition. Thanks Jeanne =) And thanks Jason for being a terrific event coordinator. None of this would have happened without your hard work and efforts! Can't wait to do it again.

Stephanie Fodor was born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii, USA. She started in the entertainment biz at age four, when she was spotted by a talent agent and began modeling. She did print work and commercials for American and international companies for several years, and fell into acting at the age of eight. Her grade school teacher suggested that she try out for the school play, and she ended up getting the lead role! And she hasn't stopped since. She also studied dance since the age of four, doing tap, then years of ballet and pointe, and then street dance, jazz, funk and hip hop, which she still does regularly.

Over the years, Stephanie has performed lead roles in plays and musicals, including "Annie" in Annie, and "Anne Frank" in The Diary of Anne Frank. The Hawaii State Theatre Council nominated her for Best Actress in a Musical for Annie, and Stephanie went on to win Best Actress in a Drama, for Anne Frank. Stephanie has appeared in American tv, film and commercials, and earned a membership in the professional actor's union SAG (Screen Actor's Guild), at age nine!

Stephanie graduated from Punahou High School with Honors (Barack Obama did too!) and went on to graduate cum laude, with a B.A. in Politics, from top-ranked Brandeis University, in Boston, USA. Stephanie also recently graduated from the Professional Actor Training Program at the famed Baron Brown Acting School, in Los Angeles. And to add to the wide array of life experiences that Stephanie is very grateful for, she lived and studied in Tokyo, Japan, and worked in tv/film production and development in LA too.

Stephanie is excited to be a part of AnD-an amazing community of artists, and looks forward to meeting new friends and enjoying new artistic experiences while in Hong Kong.
