  " Cyril Davies " + his " R.+ B. All Stars " ------ " Sweet Mary " ------- When famed  leader " Cyril " recorded this atmospheric slow blues tune in " Sept. 1963 " the flip side to their 2nd " Pye " single " Preachin The Blues "  " Cyril " had little more than 3 months left to live. By then the band of " All stars " attenedance had taken change via, the big addition of a " Hammond Organ " with " Johnny Parker " + with  " Geoff Bradford " on guitars, " Cliff Barton " as the bass man, + drummer " Billy law " replacing the former.

   " Cyrill Davies " + his " R.+ B."  " All Stars " ----- " Country Line Special " ----- It rarely gets better than this line up, a memorable " Chicago " blues base,drenched intro. " The All Stars " debut single featured their inaugural collaberation of blues devotees, such as " Cyrill Davies " leader of the musical pack. On vocal chores, and harmonica, guitarist " Bernie Watson " and also future " Rolling Stones " member, keyboard  sideman " Nicky Hopkins " on the tinkling ivories, bassist " Rick Brown " and time keeper " Carlo Little " on the drum kit duties. This collection of blues cats, set the standards for " British R.+ B." for many years following  " Cyrills " uncalculated + sad death in early booming " 1960's " + this song interms of authenticity of the sheer raw energy, served as a  full course plate, + as an aural reminder, of what a special time period this truly was, a genuine diamond,  + a breathtaking " English " blues tainted classic.

  " The Yardbirds " -------- " New York City Blues " -------- Lead creating " Slowhand Clapton " by now had packed it in, and departed his role in the " Yardbirds " rankings. But between all the pop oriented psychedelia overtones  there was still room for some true, and real blues playing and in " Eric Claptons " replaced musical shoes stood guitar whiz " Jeff Beck " suggested by buddy " Jimmy Page " to enroll as a " Yardbirds " member. And rightfully so  " Jeff " amply takes up the slack from his predecessor, by now the 5 " Yardbirds " were fullfilling " British " blues boys dreams, having recorded in the " States " not only at the famous " Chess Studios " in " Chicago " but also with " Elvis Presley " affiliation " Sam Philips " at the " Sun " trademark in "  Memphis. " This gut wrenching rock blues track was put down where the addressing song title suggests, " Big Apple City "  " New York  New York "

  " The Yardbirds " ------- " Got To Hurry " ----- This action packed intro. was the riveting " B " side to the fabulous " Yardbirds " number #1 hit "  For Your Love. " It was legend guitarist " Eric Clapton's " signature style and they now had future fusionist " Brian Auger " playing sweet harpsicord, and " Denny Piercy " on bongos. Manager " Giorgio Gomelsky " recalls many a treasured memory during the recording session in it's makings with " Eric Clapton " of his perfect inocent +  intellectual presence with this " Got To Hurry " format.

  " Yardbirds " ------ " I Wish You Would "------ Whilst talking debuts this song was the very 1st of manager " Giorgio Gomelsky's " deal with " E.M.I.'s "deal of deals under the " Columbia " label. A commercial harmonica dominated arrangement of the " Billy Boy Arnold " song The upcoming sensationalized " Yardbirds " sound registered a short brief but yet enjoyable strike of chart action,  when this single shot song entered the " N.M.E " top 30 at no.#26 in " May 1964." Although at this time the musical future of  " The Yardbirds " big break was still to come.
