I guess i did not explain enough on my last entry on the movie "Red Cliff"...

i am a "Three-Country" fanatic and hence i reacted very strongly to the movie.  i have read the novel so many times and have also read books / critics / studies about the novel and that part of the history.  i even dreamt of marrying the wise Zhu Ge Leng (if he ever rose from his tomb)...  In this new movie, Mr. Takeshi plays my idol, so you may wonder why i'm not happy... i don't know why!  I totally agree that Mr. Takeshi is very handsome, but to play my idol?  He lacks the depth and the "coolness" and the god-like vibe described in the novel.  Yes my idol was around 28-year-old at the time of the Red Cliff war, but it doesn't mean that he would be as immature and somewhat silly as Mr. Takeshi portrayed in the movie.  In the ancient time, men got married around 18 and had to take care of their family (including their parents and grandparents) since then...  so 28 is not a young age for people in the Three Country period!!!  Plus... the conversations between the characters were totally conventional and hysterical!  It's another Hollywood movie... aiming for the general audience while ignoring truth to the novel, the history and the culture.  And these were only a few of the many inaccuracies and ignorance in the movie!!

    OK.  That's it.  Sad!

It sounds like your knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the Three Kingdoms is too in-depth to enable you to enjoy a 2 hour film that had to be made into fluff to make it palatable to the masses. It's apples and oranges. I do understand your disgust. haha.

Oh It sounds like it let you down badly. It does hurt when movies decide to have firepower over historical facts, It riles me too.
