Flash Developer
Are you one of the rare Flash developers who builds data driven applications in actionscrīpt rather than toys on the timeline? Do you want your work to be viewed hundreds of millions of times a day? Then join us at Slide.
Responsibilities:
You will be building all kinds of different widgets for Slide. Video and audio players - games - web cam integrations - wicked animations - you must be passionate about satisfying the every wish of our rabid fans. The position requires extensive experience building XML-driven Flash applications and a strong commitment to building robust applications on a rapid development cycle.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of solid software development experience
- Expertise in Flash Development: Actionscrīpt, CPU/Memory optimization, Javascrīpt/Flash bridging, Cross-browser compatability
- Extensive design experience
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to assist other team members in problem solving.
Senior Web Developer
Slide is seeking an individual who is passionate about engineering and wants to push the limits of what is possible on the web. Our web developers do it all - from styling pages to hooking up the businees logic - we build fast and mean.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for developing our website front-end using CSS, HTML and Javascrīpt. Ideal candidate knows when and why to use tables, has knowledge of when an XMLHTTPRequest is useful versus when it is just cool, and can hand tune markup for efficient rendering.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of solid software development experience
- Expertise in Javascrīpt / HTML / CSS
- Experience with Python / PHP / Ruby
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to assist other team members in problem solving.
- Excellent knowledge of Internet/Web technologies, such as browsers, firewalls, and http.
Server Coder
Slide is building a large scalable service for delivering dynamic content over the web. We are looking for an experienced server engineer to join our small but rapidly growing team who will thrive in a startup environment while creating software used by millions of people every day.
You should have experience developing server software in Python or some other interpreted dynamically typed language.
You have a detailed understanding of using Unix to implement a large server application: networking, memory, storage and concurrency.
You possess knowledge of web service technologies and protocols (Linux, MySQL, Apache, REST, XML, Ajax, etc...)
You believe that an appreciation for elegant algorithms and data structures is compatible with pragmatism and getting cool things done.
You feel comfortable with asynchronous network programming, server frameworks, distributed systems, fault tolerance, and scalability.
You have a B.S. in Computer Science or related field.

Quality Assurance Engineer - Web
We are looking for an intelligent, self-motivated, energetic problem-solver who likes breaking server, enjoys working closely with software developers, and can contribute his or her ideas and energy to the development of successful products.
Responsibilities:
- You will help expand Slide's Test Framework by writing code and developing test suites
- You will develop in-house tools
- You will be responsible for designing, documenting, and executing test plans for our server applications
- You will perform integration, regression, and ad-hoc testing
- You will be involved on design and code reviews
- This position will involve working closely with developers and product managers at all stages of product lifecycle
Must have:
- Build and/or coded with programming language: automation scrīpts, automation framework, test tools, stress and/or perfomance testing
- At least 1 year on server-side testing experience
- Worked on dynamic content sites
- 2 years experience with any of the following programming languages / scrīpting: perl/cgi, python, java, php, coldfusion, c, c++
- Experience with version control products: SVN, CVS, SourceSafe, other
- Database experience: Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PL/SQL - build complex queries, triggers, stored procedures to test data frameworks
- Experience with open source tools such as : Jmeter, Ant, Selenium, JUnit, ServletUnit, HTTPUnit, Cactus, Clover, PyUnit
Good to have:

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the smooth operation of Slide's database infrastructure, including: coordination and collaboration with developers on queries and feature implementation; management of database instance configuration, replication, failover, and migration; designing and implementing a high-performance, redundant, and highly scalable database infrastructure.
Requirements:
- 4 years or more of production MySQL architecture experience on Linux.
- Solid tuning experience with MySQL, MyISAM, InnoDB, and SQL.
- Prefer OLTP experience.
- Strong foundation of IT knowledge desired.
- 5 years or more of general production database administration on various platforms a plus (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Solaris, etc).
- Desire to work in a collaborative, fast-paced web environment.

Keith Rabois Joins Slide as VP, Strategy & Business Development

In this new role, Rabois will help set the company's strategic direction across all content and distribution channels, as well as establish industry-leading partnerships with companies in the media, entertainment and technology sectors.
