Woke up this morning and found 3 inches of fresh snow!! Long time I haven't seen snow.. It confused me a bit. Didn't even think about touching it with my bare hands and making a snowman or throwing a snow ball. Seems way to cold for that.

Around noon, my boy Tobias came through, cause like all my friends, his work was cancelled due to the snow. No one was driving on the streets at all today.. Too much black ice..

We ended up finishing a song that I had in my head for a few days before I left Taipei. It ended up really good!! I was a bit shocked.

Went out, had dinner and a few beers with some more friends, then came home and started laying down the tracks.

Everything is super rough now, but I'm hoping to finish this one in a few days, then upload it here.

First song of our new album has officially started! Everyone's hella excited. Me too. Haven't been so excited in a long time...

Van, Gaby, Terry, and Calvin, picked me up at my house about 8pm, and couldn't decide if they we're gonna drive me to the airport, or kidnap me, and lock me away in Tainan somewhere. Turns out we went to Terminal 2.. Good for me, since my Visa was up...

This is my passport.. It's the most obvious drug trafficer passport ever.. I have something like 150 extra pages added to it. Going on tour does that to a passport..

Gaby got this picture in case I don't come back to Taiwan. He's gonna post it online and offer a reward to anyone who can get me to come back to Taiwan..

Van and Calvin, talking their talk... And of course Terry Li, was taking the pictures for me.. So he's not actually in any of them..

So after a 10 hour flight, I was back in my home country.. My boy Matt Gervais, picked me up at the airport, and drove me back to Big Momma's house..

And we immediately proceeded to burning pennies. We we're turning 2 pennies into one big penny. Turns out, my friends back in Seattle are responsible for the failing American economy.

If everyone would simply stop melting their change, the American economy might have a chance.. But by the looks of it, there's no chance of getting Americans to stop melting their money. We simply have too much freedom here..

And turns out my friend's built a pizza oven in my backyard since I was here last.

It's way better than I had imagined.. Looks like a proper pizza oven in the backyard. I can't imagine a better backyard pizza oven...

Gonna start setting up my studio now, and get to recording the best album of my life.. Will definitely upload the new tunes as soon as we get them done. And will try to get my bandmates on AnD as well.. Trying to build this bridge from Asia to America..

  • Everybody Budokan!!!
     |  )

    Tuesday, Oct 7, 2008 11:16PM / Standard Entry

Ok.. So today we played at the infamous Budokan.. The Stadium in Tokyo that gives you status. And my boy Terry Tye Lee stated why in his blog. Budokan Stadium has a priceless history. The very first concert to be had here was The Beatles. And there were lots of protests outside because some people didn't want some Foriegn Rock'N'Rollers rockin out on sacred ground... Oh.. By the way, the Budokan is literally right next to the Imperial Palace. So.. Protests Vs. Rock'n'Roll.. And Rock ended up winning. And The Beatles went on. It's also the only place that the Beatles played in Asia. So hella status...

One of the earliest soundchecks I've had.. 10am.. Hella Loud, Hella Rock, Hella early.. The best way to wake up.

This is from the big screen that hangs above us..

Center Stage!!! If only we had an audience for this pic...

    Backstage right before the show

After the show, hanging out with one of my favorite bands of all time, Monkey Majik!!! This is the 2nd time I met them, and they remembered me.. It made me realize that it's not impossible to meet your idols.. And hopefully sometime in the future I'll be able to make some Monkey Majik Muzak with them too.. That'd be too awesome!!

Last show in Tokyo tomorrow!!! Hope it's smooth!!!!

    Saturday, Oct 4, 2008 11:24AM / Standard Entry

Yesterday was one of the longest days of my life.. We had gotten back to the hotel the night before at around 3am, and had to be downstairs the next morning at 9am.. So needless to say we we're all crazy tired.

Got to the arena at 10am, and did a full dress rehearsal until 1pm. Then had lunch, and seperate rehearsals for the rest of the day. Finished around 6, changed into our 1st set outfit. Then at 7, showtime..

And our first show was WAY better than our rehearsals. I love it when it works out like that. It proves that all our hard work is paying off.

I'm curious to see what the press said about Van's part of the show. I felt like it was incredible. One of the best shows I've ever been a part of. But I wonder if the Japanese audience feels the same way..

I'll post some pictures when I get my computer from off the stage.. I always keep it on stage so I can Skype my parents while we're performing.
