  • Everybody Budokan!!!

    Tuesday, Oct 7, 2008 11:16PM / Standard Entry / Members only

Ok.. So today we played at the infamous Budokan.. The Stadium in Tokyo that gives you status. And my boy Terry Tye Lee stated why in his blog. Budokan Stadium has a priceless history. The very first concert to be had here was The Beatles. And there were lots of protests outside because some people didn't want some Foriegn Rock'N'Rollers rockin out on sacred ground... Oh.. By the way, the Budokan is literally right next to the Imperial Palace. So.. Protests Vs. Rock'n'Roll.. And Rock ended up winning. And The Beatles went on. It's also the only place that the Beatles played in Asia. So hella status...

One of the earliest soundchecks I've had.. 10am.. Hella Loud, Hella Rock, Hella early.. The best way to wake up.

This is from the big screen that hangs above us..

Center Stage!!! If only we had an audience for this pic...

    Backstage right before the show

After the show, hanging out with one of my favorite bands of all time, Monkey Majik!!! This is the 2nd time I met them, and they remembered me.. It made me realize that it's not impossible to meet your idols.. And hopefully sometime in the future I'll be able to make some Monkey Majik Muzak with them too.. That'd be too awesome!!

Last show in Tokyo tomorrow!!! Hope it's smooth!!!!

  • First F4 Concert

    Saturday, Oct 4, 2008 11:24AM / Standard Entry / Members only

Yesterday was one of the longest days of my life.. We had gotten back to the hotel the night before at around 3am, and had to be downstairs the next morning at 9am.. So needless to say we we're all crazy tired.

Got to the arena at 10am, and did a full dress rehearsal until 1pm. Then had lunch, and seperate rehearsals for the rest of the day. Finished around 6, changed into our 1st set outfit. Then at 7, showtime..

And our first show was WAY better than our rehearsals. I love it when it works out like that. It proves that all our hard work is paying off.

I'm curious to see what the press said about Van's part of the show. I felt like it was incredible. One of the best shows I've ever been a part of. But I wonder if the Japanese audience feels the same way..

I'll post some pictures when I get my computer from off the stage.. I always keep it on stage so I can Skype my parents while we're performing.

  • Japanness

So it's been a long time since I've blogged anything.. I'm lazy, I admit, and my life isn't that exciting.. BUT.. Things are getting a bit more exciting for me this month.

I've been in Japan for a week already rehearsing with Vanness Wu for the 7 F4 shows in October. It's starting to hit me how big these shows are gonna be. I think most chinese people, or people in China and parts of Asia have heard of F4. I know I heard about them within the first month of living in Taiwan. And we got 7 sold out shows in Japan that seats 10,000+ people, so turns out there's some people in Japan that heard of them too.

And the Japanese production team is out of control. Van's band (Terry Li, Vic Lau, DJ Zhong Wei, and myself) have been blown away with the courtesy and patience of these people. We even have our own translater, Toshi San, who sits around and just kicks ass all day. He translates everything from our funny jokes to our really stupid, waste of time jokes. And we got the most handsome driver, who just drives us around all day looking handsome. And of course the rundown is changing everyday, and we are constantly making little adjustments to our set striving for perfection.. We have 15 days of rehearsal.. 8 hours a day. Hella work.. But all for a good cause.

And I've been to Japan twice before and had my notions coming into this country, but I'm finding out Japan is changing..

Not every part of Japan is spotless. We went searching for trash on the ground in Shinjuku, and after 3 hours, we found it!!

Also, you can't smoke anywhere in Japan anymore.. You can't even smoke on the street...

And people sleep on the streets in Tokyo.. Not homeless.. Simply Sleepy..
Cigarette Vending Machines still exist.. but.. You need a TASPO card to buy from it. But you can only get a TASPO card if you have a Japanese ID. And you can only get a Japanese ID if you're Japanese... Half Japanese doesn't count.. I tried...

Garbage Cans are recyclable in themselves... Saving the planet in style..
But the sunsets are the same as I remember.

Alan had a show at The Wall in Taipei last Friday, May 23rd. He asked Ting to be his guest, so we played 2 songs. It's always fun to play at The Wall cause the stage, the sound, and most importantly, the sound on stage is awesome!!!
