  • What does a rainbow mean to you?

To me, seeing a rainbow brings excitement and reminds me of the covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on earth.  In response, mankind is supposed to worship God and obey God's words.

Verses where the word "rainbow" were mentioned.

Ge 9:13 - From God to us
I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

Ge 9:14 - From God to us
Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,

Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."

What is this covenant about?  In theology and Biblical studies, the word "covenant" principally refers to any of a number of solemn agreements made between God and the Israelites in the Hebrew Bible, as well as to the New Covenant, which Christians consider to be the final fulfillment of these. Christians typically use the term "Old Covenant" to collectively refer to the covenants described in the Old Testament.

What does a rainbow mean to you?  Did you see one recently?

Rainbows are pure beauty to me! they tell you that the rain is over!
I also remember, that once I drove with a car on a country round through a rainbow where it touched the ground!

What you wrote is how I think whenever I see a rainbow ..
Gen 9:15 ~ And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.  Amen

I saw one at my ex-college teacher and sister-in-Christ's apartment when she had just moved in.  Having gone through so much with her family, the rainbow was a good reminder of God's covenant with mankind and in particular with her as a faithful follower of Christ.  She obeys God and worships Him fervently and in response, God has blessed her and carried her through hard times.
