Some images got stuck in my mind!

For the whole day, I am very disturbed by the image which I saw on the front page of our national newspaper, Straits Times.  An image occupying half the page showed a young man sobbing over a dead friend with the face covered with a book.  A few days ago, it was the image of a family of four floating in the river without garments and all bloated after the cyclone hit Mynmar.  This is really heart wrenching.

Heavenly Father,

Our hearts go out to the victims of cyclone hit Mynmar.  Soften the hearts of the officials and open doors so as to allow relief efforts to reach the needy who are fighting to stay alive.  Father, may your mercy be upon them.  We also pray for the on-going rescue efforts in China to save lives.  Help us to remove obstacles and hindrance in the path of the rescue efforts.  Comfort those who have lost their family members and especially parents who have lost their only child.  Uphold those who are still trapped with strength and hope.  As the days ahead will be critical for the survival of many lives, we pray that your mercy and grace will be with us always.  All these we pray in Jesus most precious name. Amen.
