Lured by the newspaper reports and craving for this "King of Fruit", we drove a distance to get to this new durian haven.  I suppose durians lovers are drawn to it because it makes one reminisces the good old days of durians indulgence.

I always go for bitter durians that have this tint of alcohol hence, appropriately named "XO" durians.

    "Our catch of the day"

Yummy...so yummy...great subsitute for the conventional dinner.

This durians outlet is called, Four Seasons Cafe, which is located at Joo Chiat off Still Road.  Parking is a problem there and you have to be prepared to pay for good durians by weight.  The vendor guarantees the quality though so you can ask for a change if the taste is not what you like.  S$70 for four durians weighing about 1 to 1.5 kg each.  This is expensive compared where I usually get them at a Jurong West market.  Durians are also offered in cakes and puff at this "cafe".

Just opposite the durian cafe, I saw this crowd queuing for dinner at this "restaurant".  It is apparently famous for its crab dishes.  It is barely 5 p.m. and there is already a dinner queue.  My nation - Great food lovers!

On one of the travel programs I watch, they spoke about durian .. its evidently an acquired taste, as to some people it has a bad smell ..
