I was sent home with a bottle of nasal spray called Flixonase and oral tablets named Xyzal after seeing my family doctor for the congestion in my nostrils which didn't go away for weeks on and off. Allgeric rhinitis is caused by an allergic reation to airborne particles. The actual cause depends on the individual allergic response of the sufferer. It may be the pollen from flowers, house dust mites, or even tiny pieces of skin from animals. This condition is not uncommon and tends to run in families. Poor babe has it too. Poor me got to administer nasal spray twice a day for at least one month from tonight onwards.
To clarify my doubts, I also asked my doctor about the side effects of the intravenous drip with dye agent which will be administered into my body for my kidneys CT scan on this coming Tuesday. He ensured me that the side effects would be minimal and the dye should clear from my body within a couple of days. As for radiation, it is also minimal since this is the third scan within a period of five years. The radiologist would probably be more at risk than the people who are exposed to radiation as patients.
This visit helps to clear my mind which was in doubt since 23 June however, the doctor found that my blood is moderately high at 140/95 tonight. I will have to do self monitoring after I get better from my nasal congestion and see him again for another review.
As I am not keen on medication and the blood pressure is alright on good days, lifestyle adjustment has to be made and followed through. With some many things at hand, you may wonder if I am worried. To be honest, I do worry in the past but with the passing of time and the peace from God, to be alive everyday is a bonus and if I get another twenty years or so it will be a miracle.
God's grace is sufficient for me.
