I hope you don't mind, but i am studying you and your work for my A level art exam project. I found out about you by searching "best painting ever" into google images.. and one of your paintings came up. I loved it. and i love all your works. I really admire the fact that you are trying to push yourself into creating bold and new ideas. The use of a scate ramp in your art exhibition is pretty genius! and Brave. There is much more respect nowadays for 'street art' and for this project i am looking at the two sides of the arguments on graffiti etc.
In Bristol (England) there is a huger street art gallery at the very highly respected RWA gallery. This shows that people are starting to appreciate this style and except it to the level that it is rated like a monet or picasso etc. Banksy is a big part of Bristol and his graffiti has probably attracted as many tourists as anything else the city has to offer in recent years.
Thankyou. You've actaulyl made me exited about art again. I;ve been acepted for Art college.. but music is more my thing.. but now i might just reconsider the offer and maybe even try for a career in art. so yeah! cheers!

I read your comment to Rottendoubt's "If I had a year to live" blog and I want to thank you for sharing that with this community.  It reminds us all to listen to our hearts and choose what matters to us, instead of something else we have been taught or conditioned to think we want.  I figure the point of life is to arrive at the end having lived it as fully and completely as you can.  The trick is, we're not given an owners' manual at birth and it takes some longer than others to get the hang of it.  It helps to have those who have figured it out for themselves out there showing the rest of us what it looks like.  Like so much in life, each individual life will have its own color and contours unlike anyone else's.  The trick to is discover our true selves and live out of that space consciously, freely and fearlessly.  Thanks for showing this community one beaut of an example of how this can be done.

ya, i totally agree.  actually, that's a big reason why i've always done my own companies instead of working for someone else.  and why i moved out to asia 4 years ago.  i've always felt like life is too short.  i think a lot of people forget or ignore the fact that they will eventually die, and that it's coming up a lot faster than they realize.

it seems like i'm always saying this (since i'm always starting up new companies), but as soon as this one is stable i hope to find more time for myself...

i'm going to see my family a week from now.  really looking forward to it.  i seem to see them less and less often since things have been getting busier.

Saw your installations and paintings at the Hong Kong Museum of Art around New Year. I was very impressed, especially by 'Argonautica'. Everything did great together with Mak's sculptures though I would have loved a closer setting to his works. They seemed so seperated (probably intentionally) in the last room.

Anyway, I love your work and back in Germany I tried to spend some of my few studend loan bucks to buy some reproduction/ art print of your paintings, finding out there are none available. Is that a principle of yours? Do I have to wait until I can effort to pay you adequately for those days & hours of concentrated work?

    Sincerely,
    Alex

Wow, nice paintings! Where do you exhibit, would love to check it out!

The photo you commented on was taken by a 15 year old called Clarence Tam, he asked if I'd model for him for his portfolio. Very talented kid! Not sure where he got his inspiration from but it was a very long time ago. He calls it Valkyrie.

Anyway, let me know if you have any exhibitions, would love to drop by and check out these paintings in real :)

    All the best!

    Hi Simon,
    Great work!

My Girlfriend is also a painter and she teaches art at an international school. She asked me to contact you, to see you if you would entertain the idea of meeting 7 of her students?  She really likes your work and believes that you will really inspire them.

Let me know if you are keen.

    All the Best
