"The reason for throwing a blade is to make it stick, yet the best way to make the blade stick is to have no desire to achieve a good hit, so in effect, the reason for throwing a blade is in fact not to make it stick, however the best indication that you are employing the principles correctly is that you can actually make it strike well, and often. This paradox reflects the Zen outlook on life, to act without desires, do something without doing it."
I know I have done a blog about this before in more detail, but I my imagination is bursting due to one of my favorite authors. ><
I picked up where I left off with the Laurell K Hamilton, "Anita Blake" series http://www.laurellkhamilton.org/ . I don't know if any one has read these. Incredible books, to say the least!
I am reading book 6 at the moment. And am loving every second of it. I know, I know, when you get a good book, a nice comfy chair and a good ol' cup of tea, it is probably one of the best feelings ever! According to some, it is not one of her best books in the series, but I disagree. I am a sucker for (pun not intended) lusty-500 year old vampires that dress in black/red-frilly shirts with midnight blue eyes, pale skin and shoulder length black hair. *drool* So you can't blame me for loving this book. Not to mention romanticism and passion. I guess that is in all these books. Oh what the hell.
I'm not one for writting reviews, so I will link them here:http://www.laurellkhamilton.org/Anita/AnitaOverview.htm She has 16 books in this series so far.. I am very lucky that I am so far behind. It is a good thing. I will have many to read. Muahaha! Yay, for me!
Any ways, it sparked my lust on vampires, AGAIN! D'oh! >< It is forever in my mind, but things are always fueled by current events, don't you think?
So, I will add part of my passion in two short utubes vids. As I like to do in most of my blogs. I guess I choose visual as expression.
Funny, I was just musing on the MB about my love/hate thing for vampire stories & films. These 2 vids reminded me I love em more than hate them. They're stunning! Thx for reminding me of Bram Stocker's Dracula.
I think you might like the one I was talking about on the MB, Queen of the Damned. The beginning was totally cool anyway, haven't seen the rest yet. Aaliyah has a starring role in it as well. So sad her life was cut so short, she had something about her; as the saying goes the camera loved her.
