Haha, Oh I've experienced the 'Narom Wind' It's like Neji's Ultimate Defense. :) Well I have booked our hotel in Beijing already, but nothing in Shanghai yet. We'll be coming from the Li River mid-week (I think May 24rd) and flying out May 28th.

Well, if Pat is going up, I suppose you could stay at my place with him. Kinda outside the main part of Shanghai a bit, but it's free, so hat's pretty cheap. If you want to be closer to the city, there are several relatively inexpensive hotels around. One not far from where I used to live on Shaanxi Nan Lu just south of Ju Lu Lu is only around 200 - 300 / rmb / night or so. But i don't really recall the specifics.
My place isn't super big, but if Pat stays on the couch and you guys stay in the bedroom it should be okay.
Of course, if I go up there then not sure, since I tend to keep people up at night. ;-)
Yeah for real Mark, I planned on writing you before we knew about the China trip to say it's been too long. I've been following your blogs though so I know what's been going on in Mark Land! :)

Ah ... okay. You're Matt's GF. Gotcha. I haven't talked to Matt much since moving to Asia so he never mentioned you. I think I heard that he had a GF from Pat, but since I've never met you, I just sort of filed it in the back of my head for possible future use.
