Long time no blog.
A lot happened to me in the month of November.
The events themselves had an affect on both my life and my career.
First off, after 6 years of being with my wonderful girlfriend Pamela, I officially proposed to her. She said YES of course.
This is her. Isn't she hot!!!? =)
We are setting the date for May 2010. The reason why so late is because we have both her cousin and my brother getting married in 2009. That would be too much traveling for those coming from the Philippines in one year.
The very next day after I proposed, Pam and I went to Steak and Shake for breakfast. In the middle of our meal, I get a phone call from a number I did not recognize, but it was an 818 number, which is a Los Angeles area code.
When I answered, it was Paul Kurta. Paul Kurta is the producer of a film called "Cherry" that I auditioned for a few weeks before I proposed to Pam. Paul said he was happy say that they have chosen me to play a small role in their film as a thug that beats up the lead character in the film. I was so happy because this was my first SAG role. So it was a huge deal to me. =)
Some more added excitement to this film was that "Cherry" stars Kyle Gallner. I didn't know who Kyle was until Pam looked him up realizing that Kyle played The Flash aka Barry Allen in "Smallville." Since I am a huge fan of "Smallville," I was super excited to work with him.
If you haven't seen Kyle in "Smallville," watch the clip below.
My experience working on "Cherry" was great. Everyone was super nice to me and it was weird getting special treatment as an actor on the set. For instance, they drove me to lunch when I only had to walk half a block. I'm sorry, but I still find that to be really weird. Are people that lazy or are they just that nice?
Kyle himself was a great guy to work with. He is very down to earth and always has his game on when that camera is rolling. Speaking of which, that was what I was most impressed about in this shoot. I have been in some crazy fight scenes with LBP, but this was different. The scene that I was in has a lot of drama. In order to have a lot of drama, there was a lot of acting involved. I guess what I'm getting at is that the actors including Kyle and this other actor, Dan were so convincing, I really felt like I was in a real scene. I didn't get to do as much as I thought was able to do because the stunt coordinator had no idea what the location would be. It turned out to be a really small kitchen. So overall, I give him a nice knee to gut and punch him in the stomach after we throw him out in the street.
So before 2008 ended, I can say that I kicked the Flash's ass and threw him out on the cold streets. =)
After beating up Kyle, I had a small scene with Esai Morales. I mainly new Esai from La Bamba. He played Ritchie Valens brother. I so wanted to ask him to scream out, "Ritchie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" But I chickened out. =( I don't have much to say about him besides him being a good actor and a nice guy. I really didn't get to work with him that much, but it was still fun anyway.
The weekend after the "Cherry," Micah Moore, the director of "Dogs of Chinatown" flew both Manny and I to North Carolina for a promo shoot for his new film, "Beat Down Boogie."
Not only we got to meet Micah and his crew, we also got to reunite with the great, Eric Jacobus.
It was overall a lot of fun working with Eric and Micah/crew. Since I was sick, I didn't get to shoot much with Eric, in which I still feel really bad for. But once Micah gets his budget, Eric and I will have our epic battle. After our shoot, we took some really good photos with photographer, Justin Reich.
Check them out.
Welp... That was my month of November. It was pretty crazy. Now it is back to working on "Those Who Go to Hell" with Manny. We are hoping to wrap it up in January/early February at latest.
After that, I can cut my hair, get new headshots, and sign with an agent. I hope things continue to go up from here.

Danny Chan Kwok-Kwan from Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle plays Bruce Lee in "The Legend of Bruce Lee" series. He fights Ray Park (Darth Maul), Gary Daniels, and Mark Dacascos. Nice to see a tribute to Bruce.
