It makes me extremely happy to see people rockin to punk music in Hong Kong! Rockin, moshin, crowd surfin, OD'in on Jager hahaha! I never expected this. What a wonderful surprise!

Hardpack, AnD, I like the way you get down! OWWW!

Now I want to hear some symph-metal, Asian style. THAT would probably make me speechless. Surprise me HK! Let's see what you've got!

Anticipating the busy/drunken/crazy Halloween weekend we're going to have here in HK, there probably won't be a post until I'm fully recovered, whenever that may be. I leave this blog open to you, tell me what you like/miss about San Francisco and the Bay Area in general. (Or if you are reading this on AnD, what do you like about your hometown?) Help me imagine SF again, I do miss it dearly.

For inspiration, here is one of the poems I wrote during my first week in HK that has been on my facebook. Add some verses! I'm feeling lazy.

    Ode to San Francisco

    I've got 3 suitcases and a fold-a-bed
4 credit cards with different marks
2 friends to crash with (and I thank my cards)
but only 1 of you and I can't forget

No, I can't forget your numbered streets
    I can't forget your Clement-ine eats
    I can't forget 60-degree weather
and the guys and grrls with chaps of leather

    No, I can't forget the Geary 38
nor the fog from Ocean Beach to the Golden Gate
I can't forget the murals on Mission Street
nor the music there that moved my feet

She's got 3 thousand homeless children with no dry beds
4-dollar gas with no parking space
2 am last call with no taxis home
but countless charms and I can't forget

  • Pumpkins!

    Tuesday, Oct 28, 2008 4:30PM / Members only

This entry comes in the spirit of Halloween and maybe a little bit too much paper mache glue last night for a costume...

Wired Geek-o-Lanterns - I love the Death Star one!!
    Star Wars Lanterns

And I might as well throw in this Roasted Pumpkin Salad Recipe. Might attempt it this week!

I am super excited for the Dead not Alive costume party on Friday. I have no doubt it will be just like old times with rottentomatoes, but new and improved and HK-ified!

Let's just say my costume has a lot of black, and chains, and leather too... but it's supposed to be cute, I swear!

    Redefining the G.O.P.!

  • MOVED IN! WOOHOO!

I LOVE MY ROOM! I have a row of windows on Percival St and 2 more on Russell St, right at the corner of Time Square (a busy, ultra-convenient shopping area). For all the constant traffic here, pedestrian and auto, it's surprisingly mute. Here is the view out my windows from left to right (I'm sure you can figure out which view I let my parents see).

My landlady was kind enough to buy me a new bed with drawers! So the old sofabed is now my couch, and the furniture in my room is mostly complete! After spending over an hour, I am now a Grandmaster Furniture Juggler (the bed and the closet at the foot of it despise each other):

Next steps acquire new chair, some decorations, and the following items (please donate to me if you have a spare =):

    Computer mouse and speakers
    Desk Chair
    mini drawers/desk organizer
    shoe rack
    desk lamp
    (rent)
picture frames and things to put on my wall

I really love my place now.. it is getting more comfortable by the day and I am sure that I will really love staying here. Oh, except for the fact that I have to climb 6 flights of stairs every time I come home. But The Taiyaki makes up for it.

Stay tuned to find out what that is!

Yeah we need more 3d films indeed.... I just think Casino Royal was just a classy flick... It had everything in its right place! I was sick of cheesy bond...

    Hey Sharlene,

Yeah, unfortunately like most people here I have to go to office and work :-(

But our office is pretty cool so it's not too bad and we have our cafe Graze downstairs which helps me with my coffee addiction.

The address is 143 - 145 Bonham Strand, Sheung Wan. Why don't you come have lunch with me next week?

    :-)

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the video. My gf cried when I showed it to her the first time.

Yeah, Assassination of Jesse James is my current fave. And the other ones I was talking about were probably Kubrick film's like Clockwork Orange and Barry Lyndon.

And my all time favourite is Tokyo Story by Ozu. This film might not be for everyone. I know Stephen didn't like it.
