Another Short Film by Shahaub Roudbari, Made
possible with the help and talent of his buddies John Nguyen, Kenny Leu
and Cao Yue.
This is the first in a series of short films involving mob debt, betrayal and Loads of violence.
I have just completed production on a Wushu Music Video that Im using
in my portfolio for grad school in film. This project could not have
been done if not for the help and experience of Jon Nguyen, as well as
the incredible talent and dedication of my fellow athletes Kenny Leu,
Collin Lee and Cao Yue.
I have dedicated this project to everyone out there that does wushu, so i
hope yall enjoy it. I appreciate and welcome any questions, comments
and/or criticism.
This is the low quality YouTube version, so bare with me. Soon I will post a link to the high res version.
ps: If partial male nudity offends you, you may not want to watch this video.
Well my friends, after slump in my Wushu career following the iranian wushu team days, I competed at This years annual chinese martial arts tournament in Berkeley, California. I was so proud and happy to be able to compete along side so many fellow athletes and friends in this well run tournament. I was even happier to successfully win gold in advanced male adult open hand, 4th place in advanced male broadsword (after cao yue in first place, then collin lee and dennis ta tied for 2nd and third). There was a slight disappointment in that we were heavily deducted in our sparring set because of our costumes so we won silver in that event, however the entire crowd was on our side and i believe that with Collin Lee and Kenny Leu's incredible performances we got gold. Unfortunately I wasnt able to compete in Staff because it was scheduled at the same time as sparring set. Here are the youtube video links: Sparring set with Shahaub Roudbari, Collin Lee and Kenny Leu
Its been quite some time since I added an entry here at AliveNotDead. Many things have happened since my days training with the Iranian National team. I am back in the United States now and I have recently made a great career decision. I have decided to pursue a career in Film writing and acting. I have never been so excited and enthused about my future plans as I am now. Entertainment and performance have always been my passion, and now that Ive decided to invest my future in the film industry, I am more than confident that great and successful times lay ahead. The steps I am taking at this time are as follows. First off, I am establishing and strengthening past and new connections and networks to support my goals. Because as you all know, in the entertainment industry, perhaps more than anything, connections and networking play a crucial role. Secondly, I am writing, directing and starring in a short film project with Cal Wushu. The scrīpt is already complete and we have been filming for the past two weeks. The project should be complete in two months time. The project is serving to give me and my friends exposure and at the same time I will be using it as an example of my work to use in a portfolio for upcoming career opportunities and graduate school applications. Third, I am looking for work in the bay area within the entertainment industry so as to get my feet wet and financially prepare for future projects. Lastly I am continuing my Wushu training every day. One thing that makes me very happy about this career decision is that Wushu will continue to play a key role in my life. I am preparing for the annual Wushu competition in Berkeley, as well as Disney's tiger claw elite championships. Me and my two partners Collin Lee and Kenny Leu have prepared a sparring set that we hope to unveil at these competitions. Well everyone, thanks again for your patience and interest. I hope that you will be able to share in my excitement and love for things to come. Love and Peace
