| Yu Chen |
The
elder sister of avant garde artist Chen Yu. She uses young
revolutionary images in a playful way as the subject in her paintings.
She depicts Chairman Mao as a baby with sweets and ice-cream. It shows
how the hardship faced by the Chinese people in the late 60's still
leaves quite an impact on the population of the new modern China. Yu
Chen enjoys a fast rise of popularity with her Mao's Babies using
unusual hues. Her works has been collected by China Club in Berlin.
