  • Halloween in Hong Kong

    I love Halloween.

I was completely disappointed with my Halloween last year because people in KL don’t really dress up and partying in HK for this special day meant I had very high expectations. I attended the Alive not Dead – “Dead Not Alive” party all dressed up for this occasion and had an extremely fun time meeting new people and hanging out with some familiar faces.

This year was for the geeks and I just had to give cosplay another shot with Nariko from Heavenly Sword. It’s not a game that is too popular but there’s something sexy and edgy about her look that I just had to challenge myself with. Then again, wearing a loincloth for Halloween would be a challenge in itself. What do u think? Was I close enough? I managed to find a wig store by Temple Street and it was a little more burgundy than I liked but I was quite happy with the end result. (Although I think I shoulda gymmed a bit more for a tinier tummy)

LKF was insane with all the barricades and gazillion people hanging around and taking pictures. My friend told me that Halloween is bigger than Christmas and for anyone that loves dressing up, this is the best city to check out all the unique costumes.

Check out a few of the snaps I managed to take!

  • Miss Asia Pageant 2009 Semi-Finals

(A very star-struck moment with Pang Gor)

I attended an event a couple weeks ago as a supporting Ana R who was a guest judge at the Miss Asia Pageant. I’ve never attended any pageants and its just one of those things that I’ll never understand. How ever I enjoy watching the courageous girls who are willing to stand before an audience and show their goodies.

This was a full-blown event and I was surprised it was just the semi-finals. Among the top 20, there were some clear winners who have poise and have the look/package. The MCs of the evening were hilarious and I’m glad I know enough canto to enjoy their jokes and comments too. One of the highlights of the evening was probably meeting the hilarious Hong Kong comedian who I grew up watching when I was living in Malaysia as a kid. I never really get starstruck but I just had to take a picture with him and email my mom (which I have yet to do). They call him Pang Gor and out of all the celebs that I’d want to meet in HK, I was so happy I even got a picture with him.

I think the finals are around the corner and I’ve got my money on a few of them. Can’t wait to see who will win!

    Check out the pictures below!

(with Joe Flizzow backstage at the Shout! Awards earlier this year)

I’m also happy to announce that after many months of talking about it, the ball has started rolling and it’s gonna happen!!! I’ll be in Joe Flizzow’s Do It, Duit music video!!! I’m always about supporting the local music and when it comes to Malaysia, I really do try to cover all 8-10 genres in 4 languages (english, chinese, malay and the 4th is hiphop). Its been great meeting so many musicians in KL and seeing local bands. Woot Woot!

Stoked much? I am! Stay Tuned!

  • Ja Got Game

    durian3

Lala loves durian and Ja got this! :)

(and then complained about how it tasted like durian but continued to eat a few more pieces)

Verdict: It’s nothing compared to the Maoshan durian and has a slightly sweet taste that’s a bit like a pineapple and the rest just tastes like delicious Japanese candy!
