Lately I've been quite free. Just had to go back and forth to China to... well... talk I guess. During this time I watched some movies... read a book... play games... and well searched the web. It's amazing the things you do for amusement might turn out to have a great affect on you. So in this entry I guess I just want to share with people the things have have caught my eyes and who knows.... it might have a great effect on you too. (hopefully in a good way haha)
This first thing I came across long time ago. To me, this is the most amazing creature on the planet.... it's just so cool. I've shown a lotta friends this but most of the think it's fake. But well it's in wikipedia so... i think it's real. :P http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_shrimp This creature is called the Pistol Shrimp. Kinda reminds me of something from Final Fantasy haha.
I hardly ever read. Like EVER! And well after a friend told me to try, I did. I recently just finished this book named <Q&A>. This is like the 2nd book in my life that I got on my own without anyone introducing me to. And well I really really enjoyed it. I was surfing the web one day looking movie trailers. And i came across this film named <Slumdog Millionaire>. This was before it was nominated for awards and stuff. Somehow the trailer looked really appealing. So I looked it up and found that it was adapted from a book. Honestly the way the author writes isn't great or anything... but the story and the structure of the book is just hands down brilliant. Can't wait to watch the movie. Maybe i'm a novel noob and don't know much about books.... but I hope if anyone might be interested in reading it will enjoy it as much as I did. Or you can just watch the movie hehe.
Ok the next is something that gets me going or I feel like I have to work harder or strive more. It's watching my favorite basketball player... Dwyane Wade! I know some people can say that there might be better players or something that... but the reason D.Wade is my favorite player is his heart for the game. Not only does he play hard and get roughed up a lot.... he also loves to share the ball and make people around him better. i remember watching a game when A.Morning first came back and Wade was really trying to feed him the ball... give him his confidence back after Morning had been absent from competition for awhile. You could see how much he enjoys playing and just doing what's best for the team. He's a warrior that puts his body out each and every game. In some ways i think he's lucky. The way he plays sometimes you really cringe at how he ends up falling smack on the floor. If some of you haven't followed basketball for awhile... then maybe you can describe him as somewhat a mix of Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant. Except... he loves sharing more and gets along more with others than those two players haha. The Beijing Olympics were actually a pretty sad time for me... but everytime i watched a game of USA I would forget a lot of those troubles for that 4 quarters of the game. And if you watched the gold medal game between USA and Spain... then I can flat out say D.Wade was one of the reasons they got that medal. He flat out turned the game around everytime the States seemed like they were in trouble. Hehe I probably might get a lot of people who might argue with me about this. Talking about sports players and stuff always get people arguing haha. But just keep in mind these are my thoughts... and I'm his fan... i don't ask anyone else to be.
Too many vids of D.Wade to pick from... so i just put a few up here. You pick which u wanna watch haha.
Maybe he didn't write those dialogues... but boy oh boy... these words being said by him... just reminds you that if you want to achieve something... u gotta work hard for it. Things don't just come to people easily. Accept pain, enjoy the victory. The harder you work and the more pain you savour.... the greater the victory will taste. One of the best commercials ever in my opinion.
The last thing I wanna share is a movie named <Seven Pounds> which is done by Will Smith. The movie is ok... but the idea in it has affected me. Um... if you're planning on watching this movie the don't read this.. hehe... I don't wanna ruin the movie for you. That goes for you too Radwynn and EQuinn. Don't worry about translating or anything if you're planning on watching this movie. :P
After watching this movie, i think i'm gonna follow what he did. Not as drastic... but i think I want to sign away any of my organs that can help someone the day i pass. Hopefully I'm healthy enough and in doing so, I hope I'm actually helping and not doing someone a bad thing. I mean I hope if whoever needs a vital organ to stay alive, will live a happy life in the future and not suffer more. If that happens then I would feel as though I did a bad thing. Hope that won't be the case. Anyhow... I have no idea how any of this works so I'll probably have to ask around and get my body checked up more.
OK... that's what my past few weeks have been like. Kinda boring yeah... hope you all had a wonderful Valentines and a much funner weekend than I did.
Slumdog was a good movie. I have a friend from India and he thought it did a decent job showing how things really are but sadly there is rarely a "happy ending". I will definetly check the book out ;0). I know that not everything on Wiki is real so I have to question the shrimp thing but if it is wow it's freaky! The Dr.'s will check out your organs before giving them to another to ensure they function so you do not have to worry about them hurting anyone! I am very happy you have decided to help others once your body has passed! It is a positive thing ;0). You do not have to have more check up's either just your standard LOL. Really becoming an organ donor does not change anything until you have passed at which point they will harvest the organs and transplant them into those in need after running a batch of tests for compatibility (blood matches among others) this is done to ensure the hosts body (new persons) does not reject the organ. There will always be minor rejections. But they do save lives. It really doesn't sound as if you had a boring few weeks it sounds like you were randomnly busy with anything that caught your attention! That's great lol I do it all of the time ;0) but for me it's fun.
