After the release of his debut EP "開竅," Ryan Hui has been hard at work continuing to write new songs and collaborate with some of the best musicians/producers of Hong Kong. Having wrapped up the recording sessions for the next album, Ryan will be doing an acoustic set at Langham Place that will also include some new material.
Ryan Hui was born in Hong Kong. At the age of 14, he left for California, the USA to attend high school and college. While living in the States, Ryan formed the punk-rock band “One Foot Forward” which released several recordings and performed on some band shows.
Being the son of accomplished singer-songwriter Sam Hui, Ryan has been heavily influenced by his father's love for music. Having first performed in the Hong Kong Coliseum in 1987 (at the age of eleven), he continues to write musical pieces and perform all over the world. In 2004 Ryan returned to Hong Kong to continue his music career and is currently signed up to Creep Entertainment.
In 2007, Ryan is going to grasp every opportunity for performance to share his musical creativity. He is now working hard for the coming album; there will be pieces in Putonghua for the first time. Ryan will also have promotion and performance in Mainland China in the near future.
