The familiar cliche,"Better Late than Never" had more meaning than ever for me last weekend.
I went out of town to visit a relative and then heard that another relative was making a life-changing commitment on Sunday evening. She is 85 years old and decided that she wanted to embrace Christianity and was going to be baptised. Among her 4 children, one had become a Christian more than 30 years ago.
What had caused her to change her mind, after many occasions in which ...Read more
I came across these statements on anger in a book entitled "Wit and Wisdom".
He is a fool who cannot be angry; but he is a wise man who will not.
Whenever you are angry, be assured that it is not only a present evil, but that you have increased a habit. Epictetus
Keep cool; anger is not an argument. Daniel Webster

There are some things written in the Bible that I find quite amazing.
For for a long time in history the earth was thought to be flat. Yet the prophet Isaiah, living some 600 years before Christ Wrote:

In the First book of the Bible, Genesis, thi...Read more
This is such a fantastic photo which I received from a friend: an adult bird with 2 young under its wings, definitely a picture of love, protection and security. What is more amazing is this passage from the Bible, Psalms 91verse 4:
" He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge,"
After seeing this photo, I now have an image of what this passage reallly looks like! Psalm 91 is used as a prayer for protection.
Part of a longer message I received via email.

" Buried Alive"?
Have you ever had any dream in which you were buried alive? It was as though one was boxed in a coffin, but conscious. What a dreadful thought! I used to have, though not often, thank God. Of course when I awoke, my thoughts were never cheerful then, and often led to thoughts of where would I be when I die.
About 25 yers ago I was baptised into a Protestant church. After awhile, I realized that I no longer have those dreams. I believe that God Healed me of that fear, and I thank Him ve...Read more

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

This is a rare thing in staid, stolid Singapore, a flash mob dance, and on the top of it, incorporates some elelments of the Singapore National Day Parade: helicopter with the flag, marching, etc
A time to thank God that Singapore, a tiny "Red Dot" with no natural resources, is now a flourishing tiny nation, 46 years old on August 9.
