Names Do Matter

Do Names matter or not? I am not talking about names of people , but of events and occasions.I have always queried about the names of two events called "Good Friday"and "Easter Sunday", which were remembered last weekend. Good Friday   Why is this day so called? I don't know the how, and the when. The Chinese term for this day means: "The day Jesus suffered"  Or just "Suffering Day.  耶稣受难日"That's the truth. That was the day He died a horrific death , nailed to a cross, formed of 2 stakes. So it is clear we commemorate His suffering (and death) on this particular Friday. I prefer this name to the one that is generally used.Yes, there is "goodness" aplenty  for those who would believe in this God who is the Shepherd of His people, and who became the sacrificial Lamb that the people might have eternal life.By His death, man can be reconciled to a Holy God.  By His death, we are forgiven; by His death And with this free gift of salvation, we can become the children of God, when we believe by faith. Easter SundayHe rose again 3 days later and the usual belief is on the Sunday after His death and appeared many times to his disciples. This is the Easter Sunday the Great happening day. In Chinese this day is named 复活日, 复means 'again',  活 means 'alive' or' living', so the terminology is almost self-explanatory, Resurrection Day.  His Resurrection gives evidence that He is God and gives us hope, that we can live  the way He wants us to, and be saved from judgement and eternal damnation. We can be Alive and Not Dead just as Jesus is. ( note: Alive in our spirits, having a relationship with God).Video:http://youtu.be/Y3UKd6LQKng##Romans 6:23 (New Living Translation)   For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. ##1 John 4:10  This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

約 翰 一 書 4:10

10 不 是 我 們 愛 神 , 乃 是 神 愛 我 們 , 差 他 的 兒 子 為 我 們 的 罪 作 了 挽 回 祭 , 這 就 是 愛 了 。

Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 所 以 , 你 們 若 真 與 基 督
