Gold or Platinum?

I once heard this from an American, " It is no longer good enough to say use the Golden rule when considering relationships, it is better to use the Platinum rule."

The Golden Rule is this, " Do to others what you want others to do to you." This is a measure of your goodwill.  Whatever is acceptable to you, then you may do for others. (Matt 7:12, " In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, this sums up the Law and the Prophets.")  So the converse should not be done, what you don't like done to you, then don't do to others.

The Platinum Rule is , " Do to others what  they want done  to them."  This states that you need to know what they like/ want,  then you carry it out.  For me, this is a personalised form of the Golden Rule, which is still the basic of decency and morality, and of building good relationships.

" The only reward of virtue is virtue;  the only way to have a friend is  to be one."                                                                ****Ralph Waldo Emerson

Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 所 以 , 你 們 若 真 與 基 督
